Hi all, first off, I'm new to this forum, joined yesterday as the bitcomposer forum is dead or dying. I only recently played through JA2 + 7.62 or I'd have joined sooner.

Ok, I was playing JABIA with the CE mod and I've edited some of the numbers in the config files, namely the clothing, I gave my character (Vikki) a full set of black-ops gear with edited camo stats so that my UrbanCamo was 85, and my NightCamo was 70.It was a night assault and I had Vikki crouched in a buildings shadow, my little shadow/visibility bar was almost empty (whilst in the shadow)when an enemy walked right past her, he didn't even notice her(his vision cone was overlapping Vikki), but he went to alert when I moved.

I don't think this would have been possible in the vanilla game. Do you think this was just a fluke ?

Take a look at the noise bar as well: Probably the enemy heard a movement (which results in being alerted for some short period of time before getting back to patrol routine if not having found the noise's source).
So, yes, this would be possible in vanilla BiA as well, IMO.

Hi. Nice to hear that "maybe" camouflage is working in JA:BIA now.
Could any 1 do some testing to prove if camo is working?
This is the link to my old topic in the official forum that is dead now.
http://boards.jaggedalliance.com/index.php?/topic/1515-some-camouflage-testing-results/
So if any one is sure that now camouflage is working, that could be "Hello Jagged alliance, I am back in action". =)

I can tell you, that camo does infact reduce the visibility bar, that stance does infact influence being spotted at enemy's edge of visibility cone, that night camo seem to not work at all and that the camo trait does work by increasing every camo value by a certain percentage (IIRC the such traited merc starts with 20% in all 4 camo values even if naked).

in vanilla the camo value also was changing the visibility meter, but in reality it was no difference what is the meter showing.
But, if you say that stance is influencing for how deep you can enter the "cone of vision" then, maybe system is working. Maybe I need to give it a try. Just hope that difference in stance is not 2-3 steps, because that was usual threshold during all circumstances when I was testing camo values.

Would be IMHO illogical if camo would change the influence of stance in visibilty: On any given camo level going prone reveals you a few steps later compared to standing/running stance.
So if you expected something else you are bound to be dissappointed, i'd say.

No, no, no. I just expecting visibility meter to mean something: i mean I want to see the real difference in detection distance between camo 100 and camo 20.

Something like 'del' in JA2 1.13 has not been implemented in BiA AFAICS.
