@ KittyK
In my case, when I last downloaded the latest Build, which was about a week ago I suppose, I got JA2_8646.exe. I just renamed that to JA2.exe and used it as such. It really is just the JA2.exe but with the build number so that you can know what you downloaded.
An SCI includes both the latest build for the SCI and the corresponding data changes for the directories.
I don't use the Editor.Exe files, since they aren't kept updated SUPPOSEDLY and so it is more effective in most cases to simply work with Notepad on the various INI and XML files to customize your game.
My guess is that INI Editor.exe and JA2_8647_Editor.exe would just be the latest version of it included in the 8647 build or SCI. You just rename it. But I cannot guarantee I am right about that. It just would fit the same theme.
Myself, I don't follow those old instructions to download the latest JA2 files. That was put in there long ago during the SVN depository days. When you download the Depri SCI or the Builds, you are already doing this, just in a better packaged and labeled form. My guess is that the one labeled JA2.exe was an example of one downloaded by that other method. It is harder to keep track of what is what, and the labels aren't there.
As for the UB etc files, I believe you are correct, but I just play the JA2 latest SCI or Build from the v113 directory or whatever, so I can't speak to that as it has been way, way too long since I did otherwise. My guess is that if you want to play UB but with the latest v113 enhancements, you simply replace the ja2_UB.exe file with the one with the latest build number and so forth, and then use that, from the UB folder. There should be some explanation somewhere, probably in the first post of this thread, explaining much of this, or in the various .txt files somewhere in the download.

Possibly a newb question but i have the GOG galaxy version of JA2 now. It is 1.12, is this SCI version compatible with it or do i need another version from elsewhere? (JA gold or whatever from Steam?).
thanks for a great community.

I run into problems with newer map-editors. I can't choose the faction (loyalist,kingpin,rebel,etc.). I click the tab and then nothing pops up.
My installation: JA2 then the 113 build above, as described on download page and done for years. Tested with standard maps, no other mods. The games start and are playable without any problems.
I compared my following downloads:
r8673_on_GameDir_2474 - map-editor delivered with doesn't allow to choose faction.
r8665_on_GameDir_2472 - map-editor delivered withdoesn't allow to choose faction.
r8496_on_GameDir_2397 - map-editor delivered with does allow to choose faction.
Has something be changed between 8496 and 8665? I can't read the what it says when started, too fast, but I think those where different versions (years), not sure.
Edit: narrowed it down,
r8517on2400 (15Jan18) the tab in mapeditor works
r8534on2408 (4March18) the tab in mapeditor does nothing
Since they are published here, I thought this to be the right place to report, if this wrong tell me please.
EDIT: For 8683 a fix for this problem is announced.

Playing SCI_JA2v1.13_Revision_8681_on_GameDir_2476 and getting this error by which I can't continue, because constantly freezing up. Trying a previous Revision to see if that'll help. There is a slight chance that it's an AIMNAS related problem only.
Error:
[80.1224] : ERROR : File : vobject.cpp
Line : 967
Location : BltVideoObjectToBuffer
Video object index is larger than the number of subimages
edit, I am sorry I just realized that I've already played hours of 1.13 vanilla without any sort of bug or crash or freeze so this had to do with AIMNAS but I'm testing now to see what's really going on, far as 'm concerned you can ignore this message.
However I've played another mod in 8681 and had the same freeze but then I can't figure out if it had to do with the SCI of 1.13 or with the mod itself.
It seems like beyond a point there was a loss of compatibility with 1.13 regarding some mods, but can't be sure because haven't played around with a lot of mods and latest SCI releases.

Kermi's FTP seems to be down, clicking the link on forum mainpage just leads to a message from the hosting company saying (in Finnish) that the service has been discontinued, followed by an ad for their new cloud platform. Hopefully there was a backup...

There is a new backup server for the old Kermi Server files per some post somewhere which I found by accident. I posted it in two of the Flugente Magicka Workshop threads, one thread for the new Flugente Merc called Mercy (from Overwatch)and another post in the Additional Dialog thread in Flugente Magicka Workshop. I also noted the approximate issues and methods to rebuild the Overhead.lua file as there is also a change in the name of a key DECLARATION or NAME of a VARIABLE or PARAMETER that has to be replaced while merging the various Additional Mercs Overhead.lua with the 8684 and its GAMEDIRECTORY. But that was before I knew about this file, which may combine all this already, dunno. Using that described method I was able to get the game to work as before, but it can be a bit tedious work.
Here is the link:
https://storage.rcs-rds.ro/links/4729f8d6-f44b-42b7-aa3e-e0ddc6deead6?path=%2FJA_2%2FMods_v1.13%2FFlugente%2FAdditional_ Mercs
There are other mods here, previous versions of Flugente stuff, etc. Worth Browsing. It may be that the entire Game Directory is already customized, we'll see. So it may not be necessary to do what I had done to get up to at least the 2458 GAME DIRECTORY VERSION. I have not tested anything as I'm still downloading the file currently. Just a heads-up.

Hey guys
It's been years since I played 1.13 and I'm completely out of the loop regarding features mechanics and I was wondering if any of the features in depri's build compared to 2015 stable releases do not work or are to be avoided? I'm specifically interested in NCTH because I noticed there's no longer an option to select it on the main menu and I'm wondering what's the reasoning behind it. I know it can still be toggled on through ini editor but before I commit to a campaign I'd love to know if it causes any issues or breaks game balance.

sevenfm wrote on Tue, 12 November 2019 20:06NCTH should work well in actual unstable, no reason to avoid it.
The only reason to remove options from start screen was that someone had a free time to play with code. And it allows you now to change options during campaign.
The balance is a personal preference, OCTH usually allows easier hits but can become boring in the late game, NCTH has it's own balance problems but in general is less headshot game, and more "realistic" ballistics and autofire behavior.
Thank you!

@ Hellwind
In JA2v113 EXE 8696 I can easily reproduce your issue with the same exact error.
All I need to do is to use the Enhanced Inventory Description bringing up the third tab and it will crash with the error you described in your post.
It is possible something is wrong with my directory as I needed to update the exe and then recreate the LUA and do some other things to keep my own mercs skills and set-up. I also am not using the Lev Arris improved (now default) load-outs for enemies etc.
But there have been no bugs other than using the Enhanced Inventory Description which luckily is not needed on the third tab, the first two tabs are fine. There have been other issues in the past with the Enhanced Inventory Description, like the little icons not lining up and so on. I'm going to try the latest EXE and see if it fixed the problem, which then means it was found and updated.
It happens on both 1024x768 and 1280x960 full screen. But if I turn off the Enhanced Descriptions in the Preferences (in the game from the options menu) then it does not crash. So there seems to be an implementation issue there, it also does not seem to matter what item I used the Enhanced Descriptions on. As long as I access (that is click) on the third tab, instant error, with exactly what you describe.
Is that when yours crashes?
Replaced the Ja2.exe with the newest version 8730 from the SCI of 1-16-2020 but Enhanced Descriptions still causes the same error.
Anybody else getting the same issue?

Got a weird bug on r8766. All the male characters on the tactical map have become invisible. The females show up. This doesn't apply to the NPCs.
Installed with SCI.

Wien1938 wrote on Mon, 02 March 2020 13:54Thanks man - I still couldn't find it, so I just reinstalled the SCI and reset everything.
When you are playing, above the tab for opening the laptop, there is a tab that looks like a disc. The one you went to when ending your playing or turn the volume for music down, etc. If you are there, you can also see some options, like subtitles on/off, show crows on/off, zombies on/off, etc. There you will also find the entry for the logical-bodytype on/off
