Demo Error: d3dx9_40.dll missing[message #311962]

Downloaed the BIA demo to check it out.
Got a message that an ActiveX file is missing. I have read online that I *shouldn't* try to download a specific ActiveX file like that, and instead need to make sure my pc is updated. I did. Am using version 11.
Also restarted the computer to make sure.
No luck.
Suggestions?

BiA uses DX9.
So probably you need to install Dx9 alongside DX11 (which is possible and required for same games).

Thanks. That was a good theory.
Unfortunately, it still didn't work and I ended up taking a chance on a site I hoped was reputable to download the .dll. That did the trick.
