[color:#009900]"Elite: Dangerous" Kickstarter campaign was an amazing success and they raised 1.5 mil pounds, reaching both stretch goals (Mac version and 10 new extra ships). This was also a KS record, being the biggest goal ever to be reached successfully on a crowd-funding campaign.[/color]

For us, old farts, David Braben is a god and Elite series was the unmatched space sim. I for one have been waiting for decades for a slim chance that Elite 4 gets made. And what do I read yesterday in a gaming magazine? David Braben has put up a new project on Kickstarter, called "Elite: Dangerous"! 16 days to go, 815k out of 1,250,000 pounds already pledged. If you don't live in US and can't use Kickstarter, the Elite website has a similar setup of rewards for Paypal donations.

Check out the spaceship interiors! I am so excited about this game not only because is one of the game that I loved as a kid, but because after decades of shallow games, we get a sequel properly made.

Braben is a freakin genius and he's not afraid to go where nobody else went. This will be one of the games people will talk about for another 100 years. It's also a big slap in the face of all the stupid remakes ever made. Elite: Dangerous will have planet landing and flying thru gas giants, procedural generation of galaxies (infinite gaming), ship interiors, everything a space sim should have and nobody made.

 Awesome. Can't wait to see it. Brings back memorys for myself with the 1st Elite game and those wireframe graphics, and the most memorable part was docking your ship with out crashing and the music that played. Smile
