Pre-battle interface? Sorry, I don't understand.
That's the short interface when I shall place my mercs on the small edge directly before the fight begins, isn't it? With the
words CLEAR, SPREAD etc.?
I may place my mercs with RMB on the screen. What is the profit?

Another case:
I have a question: I have found in B 9 three flowers. I know I should give them --->but to whom?
Jack has no interest and Brenda isn't in G 11. What's to do. Some of the trees are red.
And a special riddle: A had no icon of the micropurifier, only a fat black question-mark.
Jack take it as the purifier.
Now the flowers are only question-marks too.
I know in my first game there was an icon of the purifier.
Do you know the reason?
I hope somebody like this question-mark as the wished flower.

It's usual for NO or Metavira official patches. Only after one of Metavira patches it was good to start new game to have an ability to play with new mercs, but you could continue the game and play without them.

You need option UseBatteries if it's so:
UseBatteries = 1 You need batteries for working extended ear and night vision.
If UseBatteries = 0 - you don't need them.

if you are interested:
I made several tries to Ja2 to work with it.
First I changed the options in WindowsXP, lower grafiks and Admin.
All German versions of 1.13 were working, because you can set the intro = 0.
The "old" Ja2 works with a savegame from Windows 7 or lower, because there is no
intro with a savegame.
All Engish versions old and 1.13 did'n t work with this
options. But there is a program which works with windows 8:
wine.
From this program I copied three "*dll" into maindirectory of
Ja2. They are necessary for 3 D, but now it works, even with
the intro:
wided3d, libwine and ddraw.
And the best: Ja2WildFire is working (Version without code) from TopWare Interactive.
I have looked into the options.
Usebatteries=0 is default!!
This is very good. I need them for the "X-Ray".
Mercs form Ja2WildFire (p.e. Henning and Monk?) with a new patch.If they are cheaper than Mike
I shall like them. I believe I must begin the sixth game.
When I gave up my last metavira-game I lost because of seeking for Brenda over two days
20.000 $ (40.000 --> 20.000 $). And I don't find her.
I gave up if I would like to engage Mike.
Therefore I asked you for her residence to know it for my current game and to avoid this
mistake.

I have forgotten something to mention, it seems because of other questions:
Before I have given up my last game I made sector E 4 (in Ja1 23, the last sector before
you - swimming? - reach the sector D 4 (23): absolutely terrible in NOVICE!
There are two bridges, every saved by two enemies with grenades, absolutely protected behind
trees, bushes and chests (when they will during the fight).
Then there are enemies behind not only one closed door but two before you may reach them.
My mercs have LOCK PICK 90 and Lock PICKING. NO one could open the door; they must blow up walls
and doors. They made it without one door and must retreat because they had no such as TNT for
this one.
And now: The next day all (!!!) enemies have respawned. I must "win" this sector again
because of this one enemy before.
Now this sector is borderland with three borders, a wedge in enemy's territory.
I made it but my mercs were hit, hit, hit and during healing perhaps for a half a
counter-attack of 12 enemies happens and then a new counter-attack.
Nearly all enemies have shotguns!
All my mercs overcame, but I had loose my fun and gave up! And my capital was now 6.024 $,
my daily expenses were 12.910, my income was 10.800 $.
"All" are waiting for the headstone which waits for me in the next sector.
But it seems to be my headstone.
Now I am at the beginning as above. This mod is very heavy for a normal party.
You ever write it's Ja1. Yes, the quests and the sectors are on priciple Ja1, but
not the enemies and their KI. And they have much better equipment than my mercs.
My mercs have grenades but they may let them at home. They all throw like babies
but the enemy hit at the point!!!! I save the game ever and ever before any of my
mercs throw. But no one hits not only at the point, not close to the enemy with
some effect, no so far away!!
This is in this game another reason to give it up.
But as I wrote above: I didn't give up for ever. I try to avoid the mistakes to
get more money to engage better mercs. But one of the first in the new game I shall
make: Try to throw. If this is so bad as in this last game since I found grenades in
a chest and used it, I shall give up for ever.
Bob, a leader and is throwing like a baby. Vinny with agility and dexterity, forget it.
Malice with strength 89 is throwing 10 m away.
It seems that this game is reacting upon skill THROWING and every enemy has this skill.
Then every ememy hits the head of your merc, and 70 hitpoints in spite of kevlar+
occured. And you must them stand up to reach your enemy behind the covering.
To reach the next enemy another of your mercs must do the same. You need two days to
heal them.
And this after the sector with many entrances like a labyrinth with much trees where
you can win four trees for sap and the enemy is atacking and atacking to get the sector
back (E 5/34). And ca. 14 more sectors are waiting for me.
Sorry, that's my personal impression and may be I stand alone. Then forget it.
I feel like Shakespear's Hamlet:

Sorry, I couldn't end them. I gave up for
now.
@Arulcish Lion,
this was no critisism but only a statement. I wait for the patch, perhaps
I have more than 40.000 $ and I may engage Sidney for throwing?
Or should I help myself *twinkle*? I shall end this mod as I all Ja2-Mods
finished.

Do you know, that it's possible to throw grenades sitting?
Enemies throw grenades standing. But if your mercs are lying or sitting they'll throw the grenade sitting and, obviously, not as far as standing.
So, if you'll stand up before throwing, you'll throw further then.

The helmet doesn't protect your mercs (or enemies) faces. So, if bullet plumps in face - it's very bad the owner of the face. :devilaugh:

after shopping I'm here again.
Yes, I never wrote in this Forums so much how I write in case of your mod. Perhaps 1%.
It shows its "in German: Stellenwert" for me.
I played about 15 times Ja2WildFire and sometimes I hate the "russian realism", above all the
rocket-stations in D 2 and D 15 in WF sometimes awaited from Mike, above all the missing of
regeneration boosters as I am missing them in this game also.
When my mercs during two or three counter-attacks with ca. 10 Hitpoints are patients and
must leave the sector every time for the militiamen who defend this sector - you are right.
Then the mercs have to go back, I must look at context-menu for reparing, healing again
and all this again after some hours later. It's nervous, nervous, nervous.
The event for itsself, the attack, may be easy. But more counter-attacks and this activities
all about these attacks because the sectors are very well defended by the enemies, I must
say malicious, ever and ever. I know at this time I will never play in EXPERT then NOVICE is
yet malicious.
The way over sectors D 3 or E 3: I shall try in my other life in Metavira. In this Given-up-
game ( I must extend the contracts for Bob and Vinny daily.) I had no time and I have chosen
the short way, not this roundabout way. I had no time.
The rest I don't konw, I gave up.
These days when I seeked for Brenda!
The patch: We have to wait only till this night, isn't it?
If yes I shall break my new game.

It's a small patch, which mainly changes the interface and some inner game engine for further work.

@Fan No, there are no new mercs. I tried to explain it above. I wrote that the only case where you have reasons to start a new game was when we added new mercs (in v0.36), but even then it wasn't necessary.

I have forgotten something, sorry.
In my last game I had one remote control. You have to put the
mine down and choose 1,2 etc..
But using the remote control, you could hear a "click" but no function.
What the matter with this item?
Edit: One of the goodies in this mod:
If you are wearing a pocket vest2 with a camouflage poncho and
change it with a pocket vest3, -4, -5 the ponche is automaticly
in the other vest.

I'm sure I found the remote control and the TNT in a hidden chest, but not together.
First I found the TNT and I thought that there must be a remote control somewhere.
A question to you: Do you know Richard III.?
During a big fight he cried: A kingdom for a horse!
I would like to say: A kingdom for a X-ray. The last ennemy?! Behind this many bushes!
Searching for him high and low in Metavira. After so many beginnings of your mod.
But I can say: I know the story now, but without the end.
And I must write after all beginnings: D 9 is not so heavy with sky-blue militiamen.
Im my new game "they" were attacking with 22, 12, 22 and after this they had further
no interest. Now I understand the message after the first fight: "There is someone
waiting in the sector." The waiting person is BRENDA.
Edit:
I have found them just now:
Both, remote control and remote detonator are in a chest
in the little house in the south of sector G 7/56.

in sector C 4 there is an item, named AaAaAaAA. The item-picture is a question-mark.
If I take this item --->CTD.
And concern to a further question: What's the matter with this remote-control which
only "klicks" and nothing happens?

yes, I'm back again...
...with a praise.
I got the sector C 4 after finding some Colt M 16 and I thought:
If I don't find a medi-pack right now I have to break my game again.
But I made the sector C 3... and I have found a medi-pack.
I must write that your items are very well placed IMO.
But I also think for myself:
Perhaps is this the cause of MIKE that I am here in C 3?
He is a force!
Or my good luck with mercs who can throw a grenade such as Scully and Ice?
You have to choose such mercs in this mod. These sectors with the concrete walls
and the door like an eye of a needle and some mines behind!
My other mercs are throwing like children in a nursary school.
I hope I shall find any mortar shell in this mod!!!
