I'm sure I'm not the only one but I cringe every time I attempt to play BIA due to the piss poor job bitcomposer did on the game. I love the concept of plan and go and was wondering if it was possible to make a mod of BIA to be more like the original JA2? Better camera controls, same/similar HUD layout as JA2 and most importantly same voices and characters with better faces! And obviously IMP make your own character. Is any of this possible? I am aware that someone is already doing something similar but from what I've read it's still not quite right

As I know the modding capabilities of the game is very limited. basically you can edit only data tables and nothing more.

This game lacks badly a lot of the features that makes JA2 such an a loved game. Like all those who tried to clone JA2 or make JA3, they missed a crucial factor:

Sir-tech was a company that made RPG games. JA2 is a RPG wrapped as a military game more than anything. It has a story. It has characters you level and you love/hate. It has quests and a plot.

After playing BiA from one end to the other all I can say it's an average combat game, even enjoyable in some parts there. But the rest is bad. Really bad. There's a lot of potential wasted. And I am afraid their involvement with the game is gone, by looking at the official forums. It's a hack job, "been there, done that, let's make another game that brings us money".

The game needs personality and I am afraid it's kind of big project for a modder.

Does anyone know how much the budget on this game was? I can't seen to find out anywhere.

Unless they released the info publicly (Which I highly doubt) the only way to know is if you had someone on the inside of the company willing to say. Usually company policies forbid their staff from giving out this type of info.

Kinda strange that their new project is a turn-based RPG, eh?
They did an abysmal job with the character faces and voice acting in JA:BIA, I am looking forward to seeing how their new game turns out in that respect.

Personally I find the game fine, just has a different flow to what JA2 had. Also It seems that a lot of criticism comes from people that are used to the 1.13 mod as apposed to the rather bland in comparison vanilla of JA2... I do agree though BiA just does not have the same character or charm as JA2.

But really now.... If you are going to remake something remake the first JA and it's expansion please.... Wanted to play it but can't stand the UI hahaha

EDIT: Now that I have completed a playthrough though it seems that they cut a LOT of what they intended to do. Instead of a remake I can only hope someone here will eventually do a "Restoration Project" like with the two Fallout's.
