Upon entering the Tixa dungeon, we are now presented with two enemies right in front of our squad (in opposite directions so that they cannot both be affected by a single attack). Upon killing one with a quick burst to the head, I found that the other (regardless of which one was killed) would often throw a stun grenade into my squad - rendering all of them helpless. This was despite the fact that my squad included two mercs at level 9, one at level 8, and two at level 7. Attacking with a level 9 merc would usually result in the surviving soldier getting an interrupt and fracking up the whole squad (I tested this a number of times) who are forcibly bunched together at this point.

This seems like an unfair situation in which to put the player. The team you've been building for many hours can suddenly be obliterated through no fault of your own. I don't like having to resort to the immortality cheat (reloading) as it detracts from my immersion in the game, but it seems that entering the Tixa dungeon carries a significant risk of most or all of your squad being killed almost immediately. That's not good gameplay, in my opinion - although I have been enjoying the rest of the game so far (I'm about 60% through and have had two mercs die).

I was always able to dispatch both enemies without being interrupted. They don't have a static EXP level but a relative level. I was able to kill them with mercs who had EXP level of 5-7.

But I would like to hear how other players experienced this situation. Any more feedback?

Of course, we try to make the game balanced and don't want to create unfair situations.

I'll soon be there too.

Reading this I think I'll go in prepared with gas masks on and mustard at the ready.
perhaps I even can run towards them and punch their light out Wink even if the react the enemy often goes for HtH combat if you stand if front of them hoping to cancel the stun nade that way.

Anyway I'm not there yet, will tell how it went.

I ran some more tests, and I found that the best results are obtained if the merc taking the first shot can only see one of the enemy soldiers. If the first shot is taken by a merc who can see both of them (which was half the squad, I think), something horrible is likely to happen.

The results when the enemy gets an interrupt are pretty random (but they nearly always get an interrupt if the firing merc can see both of them). Although I got stun grenades the first two times, that isn't as common as it seemed. Once, I got an automatic weapon response which instantly killed a merc, and several times, I got a multiple grenade response (the AI cheats) - once was an explosive grenade followed by mustard gas.

Knowing what I know now, I suspect there is still about a 10-20% chance that one or all of my mercs will die immediately upon entering the Tixa dungeon - and a somewhat greater chance that they will all be injured by grenades.

The rest of the battle wasn't so bad except for a couple of soldiers firing a ridiculous number of 40mm stun grenades down a long hallway, but my squad wasn't forcibly bunched together by then, so I got through that without any deaths.

Well I went in Tixa basement with 13 mercs.
Had 1 enemy in the room when you come in standing behind the desk.
I send 1 of my men running towards it to punch it in the da face, enemy got an interrupt and threw a breaklight in the pack of merc at the stairs then took 1 step and bursted, only 1 got hit for about 25 hp.
I punched him shot him and he fell to the group (not dead).
When he was on the ground I could not hit it anymore with what so ever, even no melee.
( some strange bug that happens sometimes )
Till he got up and threw another breaklight and sat down.
Finished him off after that.

I was playing expert (as recommended for this mod) and went in with 6 mercs.

If those breaklights had been multiple grenade attacks as I was getting, you could have lost most or all of those 13 mercs.

Hi there!

Fantastic mod, definitely my favourite so far! Just one question... what's the story with the armed civilians in Tixa prison? They're very tempting little weapon stashes in themselves, but I just wonder, if there are any repercussions if I waste them or if they have any significance to the story (i.e. is there an explanation why civilians armed with JACKHAMMERS are parading around in a prison).
