Hey, same newb who just posted in the game help.

I have a bit of a problem with the left and rightmost sides of the game going off my screen. For example in the intro movie I saw the evil Queen DEIDRANN and now the first bit of the game messages are offscreen and so is the left part of my IMP merc panel, including the number of bullets in my gun.
I tried to post a screenshot but it actually gave me the whole game screen (including the bits I couldn't see when actually playing) when I did so. :confused: Is there a way to fix this problem? I'm no good with display settings...

 You probably will have to disable "stretch to full screen" or something like that in graphic driver's settings.

 By reading help documents (F1 is your friend), readme, using Google etc.

Maybe, if you tell us what windows, what graphics card, kind of display in what desktop resolution etc. some bears in the pit might be able to help with this ... Wink

Okay, the problem doesn't happen on my laptop, just on my TV...
I'm running Windows XP and have it plugged into my TV now, looked at the Properties thing from right-clicking the desktop and it's saying:

Try setting the desktop resolution to the one you play the game in (e.g. 640 x 480) and have the TV to show desktop completely. On starting the game in fullscreen mode it should be displayed OK then.

How do I find this resolution? The one I showed was the only one I know of.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention something. I'm playing the Gold version, if that changes anything.

Sorry to bump but I'm getting desperate so I looked at the Properties for the program and saw this:

Take a look at the 3rd post here. Be aware that you may need to change the resolution first before being able to modify the the choices there. The resolution is changed from the options screen you have in your previous picture.
Setting the compatibilty mode to "Run at 640x480" may also do the trick, though I fear it's your television that is overscanning the picture. Take a look at the TV manual to see how to enable/disable the overscan.

Okay, neither "Run at 640x480" nor the solution listed (haven't changed the resolution yet) worked. How should I go about changing the resolution? I know the menu from the picture, but what should I set it to? Do I set either of those other options on afterwards? Do I change it each time?

Press the "identify button" (see your pic). If there is 1 big '1' shown on the TV, your presumption is right.

How do I find this resolution? The one I showed was the only one I know of.

It's the one in the pic; set 'screen resolution' to 640x480 (and maybe even 'color quality' to 16 bit).

Disable Laptop's display so that the whole screen, everything is shown on TV only.
Now move the mouse around on the TV. If mouse pointer does vanish on left side your TV is probably overscanning this resolution (as Jmich said). You'll need to read TV's documentation in order to find out how to disable this.

Okay, tried again on the TV running after setting it to the resolution my laptop uses, same problem... It seems to boot into the same resolution no matter what I set my screen's resolution to.
Still 100% fine on my laptop...

I'll have a look through the others solutions too.
