I am not a huge fan of air combat sims, but even for one like me, WT has brought fighting planes to the masses. When they bring out the tanks, this will be the next-gen integrated warfare MMO of the century...

I haven't played much recently, but I am sitting comfortably on some Bf109s and some infamous Russian cannon fighters.

I've played some of it. It's surprisingly fun even with just planes. I managed to get most of countries to mid levels but I found myself to have most fun playing with level 1 biplanes.

Japanese tier 1 biplanes are awesome, I tell you. They can turn on a dime, better than Zeroes.

Btw, here's a tip: in the case of Zero, learn to turn using keys, not mouse and you'll see the true potential of that plane and why it was feared so much.

I think it is good idea to put real ww2 era tanks rather than prototypes as in WoT.

WoT still does not have first Soviet heavy tank T-35.

I occasionally enjoy a game of Warthunder too.

Wouldn't mind flying (and soon driving) with some Bearspitters now and then.
Though i mostly play only for a limited time in the late evening or night hours around the weekend.

If you wanna fly with me or create a BP squadron, send an invite to "Barkhoernchen".

So as a rather earthbound person who didn't care for WT previously: Just how are you supposed to read those trees? Is it just a list of all the tanks or is there anything you can see from it?

Yea, well I am kinda baffled by that arrangement myself. The plane trees are logically organised, these just don't seem to have a logical order. Some seem horizontally linked, some seem vertical. Guess it's just a sketch.

Well, then I guess it's really just a space efficient way to display all the vehicles on a standard screen.

Edit:
About that T-35, last I heard it's depending on the oh-so-hyped multi turret functionality though personally I can't see why anyone would want to drive the thing (although I can understand the wish to have it as a collection piece).

I heard somewhere that they sorted tanks by year of production.

Actually lots of tanks were with multi turrets but not all of them made to the games.

Main gun(75mm) in french heavy tank B1 is in lower part of the tank instead you have 47mm gun on turret.
other example is M3Lee

The B1's 75mm derp has zero lateral traverse, now think how comfortable TDs with less than about +/-7 are already. The M3s secondary is a 37mm peashooter that can hardly be called adequate at T4.
3rd in line would be the Mk I Churchill with its hullmounted 75mm howitzer - you get a true, turreted 75mm-class tank gun in the top configuration.

Multi-gun and multi-turret is one of those things people think sounds cool but will be utterly disappointing since WG already picked the usefull gun in all of the cases.

I haven't played in a while because the Yer-2 base bombings. I like to play fighter planes and games that end in two minutes because bases die too fast are just rubbing me the wrong way.

well I got in on the closed beta for ground forces.
Hated the world of tanks after the "gold rounds" became common in pub games.
This game seems pretty so far, no health bars and over powered atry to one shot you like a sniper rifle.
Not too bad so far.

Same here, managed to get myself a Tiger I and a KV-2. The Tiger was so-so, exploding ammo rack all over the place, but the KV-2 is a fucking Death Star.

All I can say is the battles are much much more hardcore. No "omg omg, i made it with 4hp". Without repair kit, if you're hit you gonna cry. With repair kit you got to wait up to 2-3 minutes for repairs, unable to move.

Can't say I fell in love with the GF maps though. Too much close combat for my liking, especially spawn to spawn. Also I tried planes vs tanks... since they're limited to Historical and you have to reload at airport, planes are a bad idea. And player AA is pretty effective, especially German one. I am not sure what will happen if they allow planes in Arcade, but so far this bit is well balanced.

Teams are pretty shit, like the kind of WoT tomatoes who sit 1m from base while it's being captured and don't even bother to move in until it's too late. So a lot of games end by capture cause every idiot and his mum prefer to snipe from base and lose.

After quitting WoT though I thought I had it with tank games, yet this one made me change my mind. Once they add proper maps, fix the hitboxes on some tanks, the game will be damn good.
