Revision 5287 introduced a possibility to compile 1.13 executable using the JA113DEMO define. I found out that the files needed to play the demo are availalble in the RoWa's branch
After some initial issues (missing UserProfile_JA2113Demo folder), I've verified that the demo indeed works - with some issues and a lot of outdated files. But why not to move the files into the SVN? UB is already there, and the demo folder is just a few MB anyway. That way players could experience the demo with 1.13 features .
If somehow it would be possible to make 1.13 work as a demo without the need to install a full JA2 version, or through installing 1.13 over the demo instead of full JA2 versio, that would allow people who don't own JA2 to try the new features introduced in 1.13 legally (unless there are some legal issues disalowing modding the demo/using demo files).
Putting the demo files in SVN would also make easier to update the files for it with each new revision - right now when a new ini option is added, noone touches a file that sits on the branches - just the files in Data, Data-1.13 and Data-UB folders.
EDIT: Oh, and currently there is no "vanilla" 1.13 version of the demo, in the manner similar to how vanilla JA2 and UB are handled.
EDIT2: And one more thing - while we're at it, the "Data-JA2Demo" could simply be renamed to "Data-Demo" just like "Data-UB"
