So, I've played and beat v1.13 on Expert (I keep trying on Insane, but its such a horrible, unforgiving grind), but not the way I want to...
That is to say, the way I won was by putting together a 6-(wo)man team of 2 snipers, 2 autos, 2 HW, with a doc & mechanic included.
I played the patience game and slowly upgraded their gear/skill sets, and made progress using my IMPS and hordes of militia.
Thing is, I keep trying to put together a "melee/martial arts" team, and I always fall flat. Even with athletics + expert hand-2-hand my guys get pwned whenever they try to engage in close quarters combat.
I've never "won" the third MMA round in San Mona as a result, because I've never had a skilled martial artist as part of my game plan.
I would like to be able to beat the game using melee/martial arts exclusively, but thus far no dice. I just don't get it. Even if I crawl all over the place in Stealth mode it still doesn't work out most of the time.
So... has anyone beat the game using only a 6-(wo)man team of martial artists/melee types, and if so how was it done?
Next question (UNRELATED): What the heck is this spy thing? I'm playing the WH40K mod right now, and I have a psyker covert ops dude (love heightened senses!), which is kinda neat. In theory.
But how do I disguise myself? Ain't nothing in the Alt+$ skill list, and the clothing I'm packing has no options.
I couldn't find anything in the specific WH40K.ini or the Skill_Settings.ini for either WH40K or v1.13.
Any info would be helpful.
Thanks!

for a good "melle" you need:
best physical stats in all 4 abilities: health+agility for AP, strength for dmg and dexterity for stealth
you need traits like: athletics - for less AP for running, stealthy - to run stealthed with less AP and beeter overal stealth, melee - for superior stabbing
this leaves us with one to take so either take throwing - for the knife throwing or night ops for slight bonus at night
HtH for me is a bit of a waste, you are far better with knives
