Separate szCareLevelText[] for appearance/behavior/nationality maybe?
I find them very hard to translate because sentences in Chinese are too different from those in Indo-European Languages.
Or maybe you can make them in a form instead of a sentence.

Regarding IMP background creation page,
'Prev' & 'Next' text are hardcoded at the moment. Coders with SVN write access will fix it soon. No action require from your side.

In IMP Background.cpp line 230,
pImpButtonText[ 12 ] & pImpButtonText[ 13 ]

Could you please be more specific on what English related texts(?) that pissed the players?

If the English phrasing used are inappropriate/discriminatory/derogative, we will fixed it. Let us know specifically which one.

If the grammar is off, we will try to improve on it. Most of the coders are coders first, grasp of English language at least a distant second.

If the text are too short to translate properly, most likely it is due the in-game text length restriction. Normally, will add appropriate comments to elaborate.

If there's hardcoded text, we will make the changes.

Point out what you need.
(Too much Ja2 if you know the source.)

Hum. Getting mercs to talk isn't that hard. Setting up a fixed dialogue numbering is neither... but all merc quotes are in .EDT files. I have no idea why they haven't been moved to nice and handy xmls, but those things are ugly, and I have no idea on wether they can be expanded. Plus the only mildly useable editor I found was in russian, which gives me no idea o what I am doing. Bleh.


The best and easiest (multilanguage!!) is the EdtMegaEditor from bugmonster.
You can find it in our svn documents trunk under the "Tools" folder.

Still, why do we even need .EDT files? Everyone can edit xmls, while .EDT is obscure and requires special tools t edit.

You said "more can be coded very easy", but if I want to change nationalities (what nationalities is each number) it is possible without real coding but just changing the ini?

Nationalities are hardcoded, and up to 255 are possible. I did not move them to xmls as I didn't see a need for it (nationality is meaningless apart from the 'hate nationality' thing).

I think there's a sign error in one of the formulae, as they also get this morale penalty if the other merc has average refinement, instead of getting a bonus like extremely caring slobs/snobs who meet the likes of them. In other words, extremely caring average refinement mercs hate everybody. big grin
