Hello,

My Vietnam SOG'69 crashed last night, it rarely does.

But when it does it hits a rare souind file.

I would appreciate someone sending me

067_046.GAP
067_046.wav that work.

Mine must be corrupt as I cannot play .wav and when crashing
it complains about 'Character #67, quote #46'

Thx,

PAW

Gambigobilla,

Thx! I only see the .GAP file, does that mean that there is nothing recorded for the .wav file?

And I assume if I put in the .GAP it will stop from crashing.

More than likely the missing wav will be causing the crash, not the gap file. You could just duplicate another wav file and rename it to the one you have missing, or even use an empty wav file with the correct name.

I'll have a look to see if I still have an old copy of SOG around to find that file.

'Fraid I don't have the files anymore, I was hoping I'd have a back-up somewhere, but can't seem to locate it at the moment.

Your problem does sound familiar though, I may have even have had the same issue, and get the feeling I did the quick fix way of just duplicating another (empty) wav file and renaming it to the one you have missing, the game should avoid crashing with a file like that in the correct directory. Give it a go.

Hawkeye,

Will try it.

Do you have an empty .wav file? Or know one from here that is:
https://ja2svn.no-ip.org/source/ja2/bran...Vietnam/speech/

Cheers,

I couldn't load anything from that link. If you can't find an empty wav file, just use a duplicate of another wav file from that character. So maybe grab file 067_045 (or any other 067 file) duplicate it and rename it 067_046, it means it will play the wrong speech file, but at least the game plays a wav file with the correct name, and avoids crashing.
