I've just read a LEVEL review of ARMA Tactics (4/10!), the 3rd person turn-based tactical game that was supposed to be a nice addition to our X-Mas table.

Apparently from being a JAF competitor it turned out to be an appalling example of how to take a great engine and magically transform into a turd.

What went so wrong? Beside what I've heard personally (the close-up camera shots being just scripted cinematics instead of real aiming mode), it appears Arma Tactics is everything but ARMA and nothing like "tactics". No AI, just mindless bots. No bullet trajectory calculations, just dice rolls. No cover, just magic bullets that can go through an entire house and kill.

I think we can draw a precious conclusion for JAF team from this one:

SCREW UP COVER AND SHOOTING AND YOU'RE DEAD...

Doesn't matter how pretty your game will look. If it has guns and guns don't work as they are supposed to, it's a turd.
