Yep, I've been playing off and on since it was released on steam.

1st impressions from a Wasteland nut? I love it!!

Obviously as it's actually a real beta and not what has been passing as beta games for the last decade or so, it's been a bit frustrating.

It's also been a lot of fun watching a game grow and transform itself from patch to patch.

For me, this has been the game I've been wanting to play for the last 10-15 years. The game that led me to Jagged Alliance and these forums.

The beta doesn't have all locations, features and polish of a finished game. It's playable (enjoyable), but i'd advise you to play it only if you want to go on bug hunt, give your feedback, or if you can't wait for the final game.
The current state of the game makes me feel it will be a nice game, at least, but it still needs a lot of work, and only the final product will reveal its level of greatness. My guess is "good game", but not legendary (Fallout 1, 2, tactics and JA2 seem better to me).

The current price is very high, in respect of Kickstarter pledge levels giving beta access. The final game will be much cheaper.

The release date is unknown, my guess would be at least 6 months from now.

It really depends on how big a fan you were of the original game, I guess. I wasn't able to participate in the kickstarter. So, when it came out on steam, I jumped on it.

Yes, it's a major bug hunt still and each major patch breaks all of your save games. But it also adds new content and improves and polishes what's there.

For me it was a nobrainer. Considering how much I've spent on games over the years, that were nowhere near as good as this game is now, even with all the bugs and probably less than a 10th of the content the final game will have ... I'm very happy with it.

Of course, your mileage may vary. Razz

And of course this is the digital deluxe version. So, eventually there wil be a couple of novellas, soundtrack and artbook available.

I just couldn't wait.
