Depressive is right this time, the guy talks about an automatic system of equipping your mercs. You buy stuff from bobby ray and once the goods are dropped the system kicks in and your mercs go and take the coolest stuff from the box, eventually they kill pablo (a few times in a row if possibly), add all the needed attachments to their new guns and armors and at the end the player like a boss just checks if they've done a good job. Smile) yeah right.... and what else? Smile)

Hello ! Well automatic reaming system for player we need key & function to automatic add same gear type to merc team in chosen squad for example if you got assault team ( Bull , Wolf , Blood , Lynx , Magic , Ice , Gus , Len , Ivan , Igor ... ) & you got type same LBE , guns & ammo you must use manual work in inventory . So we need function make this automatic when you push key ... If this implanted please explain me what is a key combination ...

If you use NATO weapon in teams you need key what give all mags to LBE what you have if this possible . Am need automatic function under the key what selected weapons for 5.56*45 , or if your squad use 7.62 * 39 if I selected all merc in one squad .

But on Strategy map you see only 30 people ... How you change this to shows 1278 peoples without crashes ?

In case you refer to the small yellow rectangles... there's hardly place for hundreds of them, no?

As far as the 'click a button to magically refill everything in inventory': Theoretically it is possible. But the user-defined part will require a ton of ini settings and/or xml tags for LBE. Way too much hassle for something gamey as this.

Update: New volatile release (r6842).
  • Fix: graphical glitch in PreBattle Interface
  • Fix: enemy invasions without soldiers
  • Savegame compatible to 6835 and 6838 releases.

Update: New volatile release (r6872).
  • has all fixes of the current trunk, fixing a possible ctd related to the snitch trait
  • Fix: squadmates could be moved to squads > 20 only one at a time
  • Increased strategic group sizes to UINT16. I am somewhat hopeful that this will be the last structure changes I have to make...
  • ... sadly, this breaks savegame compatibility.

The idea was that the stable release contains only features finished till 1. Jan. 2014, which this isn't. This also still needs loads of testing, which I don't want to go shorten just to reach some deadline.

Unless there is a general consensus among core coders that we somehow absolutely need this in the stable, no.

I'm asking this because this feature was one of the most wanted features. Great features like this shadow stable releases like old stable release was shadowed by "Item Transformations" and "High Resolution" features.

I hope this will be included in the stable release.

Thanks for doing this Flug. It will definitely fix the overflow with counterattacks. Very Happy
I have a question though - how does a game place 100+ reinforcements if there is no room at the edge of the screen?
Also, I do remember that in one instance, during one counterattack, army had over 200 soldiers in middle SAM site. When I tried to attack it (I'm crazy like that) the game simply crashed, probably because it didn't know where to place that many soldiers on the map. Will this still happen with such large numbers of enemy groups or did you manage to fix it already?

It is already 'on the SVN' in one of my branches.
If you mean the trunk: Only once it has been tested sufficiently. Enough is when I am convinced that no more bugs due to these changes occur. Which is either if my (2?) testers say that they have completed a successful playthrough, or if I did that (which might be in a few years).

-> Testing is needed, people!

How have you found the game speed with all these extra people? Does the game slow down noticably? I'd imagine enemy game turns will crawl, unless set to super sped-up motion.

The individual actions of a soldier aren't that long - animation speed is about the same, the longer turns are mostly a result of more people. Bad parts are anything related to sighting/cover calculation of other people, effort for that increased exponentially, as we do expensive checks for everyone against everyone.

Spawning a lot of soldiers is just awful though. For the pic above (with 512 enemies), I entered the game with a release exe. Doing so with a debug exe takes many minutes (I stopped after 5+).

Morning

Sorry about this but being a complete idiot when it comes to installing etc

How do I install this? Is there a specific svn release to have as a base.

This is what I did and its not working.

I used the latest svn 1945

Then copied your latest download 6872 on top

I then did a little tweaking of the xml items and imp starting gear

Also I tweaked the ini options, nothing ground breaking.

Then when I started I got run time error about facility types xml

Not sure what it meant and I know I didn't touch that xml.

An error in facility types.xml indicates that the exe you use is outdated.

There is no arbitrary limit, just write a higher number in the ini.

I think the 999999 limit is when using the inieditor? Try editing the right .ini with notepad or something.

Simply upload the save and the ini (and any additional description of the error you have) to a filesharing site an post a link it here (or PM me). It is also helpful to know which exe revision you use (I assume r6872).

The error is that I've just finished the landing zone battle. Go to the strategic screen and click on the sector to move the yellow mercs and I get a run time error. Its r6872 and hopefully I've linked in my sav and my ini
