Hi,
You have set a deadline for the English patch "stable branch"?
And you have set a deadline for all language patch "stable branch"?
For example:
Patch English version released 14.07.01...
The patch for the other languages released 14.07.15.
It's possible?
Because...
To check the game ..
To fix my mistakes ...
Etc.

Quote:
And translation of the "INIEditorJA2Options.xml" (+ INIEditorAPBPConstants.xml) file is very hard...
Thank you for your understanding. For French version.

It's possible, please?
Regards.

Hi hrvg,
we do not currently have a fixed date for release. But it will be somewhere in the next 2 months. We will release all 1.13 language versions together. We will also deliver a few official bugfixes packages in the case we haven't fixed all the bugs for the release Smile

Update for German version:

90% German.Backgrounds.xml (Setback due to a newer version.)
80% German.Items.xml (Food and new ammunition items missing.)
80% German.LoadScreenHints.xml (Possible setback due to a newer version. Clarification by Eisenfast necessary.)
German.EnemyTaunts.xml (Status unknown.)

Eisenfaust still missing since his relocation.

Not sure where the best place to announce this would be, so I'll do it here:

As of r7254, Taiwanese has been removed from the possible JA2 game languages.

This applies to both 2014 stable and development branch. The reason is that there is not a single taiwanese translation in the code, or the GameData for that matter, and I don't see why coders should painstakingly add texts to files that are never translated.

All but one trace of taiwanese have been removed, so that in ages to come, future generations of coders will marvel at the thought that we once updated 9 languages. What a folly! (We now have 8.)

Russian langfiles
This link includes only changed files from [russian] folder in langfiles.
Also please delete the contents of the Data/Cursors (.sti files), because they break the NCTH cursor (make huge offset between cross and the center of circles).

_RussianText.cpp
Most of the text was translated - all xml's, partially .edt, most of the interface text in _RussianText.cpp.

The translators (from ja2.su):
Valiant
Coppermine
Pooh
Jinaya

EDIT:
The translated xml, edt files and _RussianText.cpp are based on the actual stable gamedir/source.

@RoWa
Thank you, please also delete the contents of the Data/Cursors (.sti files) in Russian langdir, because they break the NCTH cursor (make huge offset between cross and the center of circles).

As far as I know, they are not needed for something and deleting them fixes the issue with cursor crosshair mismatch.

Russian users reporting problems with the new stable release, the mercs subtitles are in english.
Please check that the langfiles were applied correctly.

In my test SCI, I used [english stable SCI] -> [old russian langfiles] -> [new translated files]
And everything was fine.

What is the purpose of all that .edt files for merc subs, that were added to Data-1.13/MercEdt dir?
They always lived at Data/MercEdt, now they ovewrite the normal translated subs in stable release.

The files
004.edt, 013.edt, 014.edt, 015.edt, 020.edt, 031.edt, 037.edt, 040.edt, 167.edt are changed compared to the corresponding files in data/mercedt dir.
They are in english, but they were not added to langfiles for translation.
There are also a lot of other files that are not present in data/mercedt directory.

Now the subs in russian translation are messed up.

only the edt files of the new merc (wf and dg merc) should be in the data-1.13 folder.
of course the language specific gamedir files have to overwrite those files. so the files habe to be present. if the files are not there (the english one cannot be overridden) the game takes the english files.

this is the procedure for the packages:
1) take english gamedir files
2) take language specific gamedir files and override english ones (if available)
3) 7 zip the package

I have to check the russian language gamedir files tomorrow to see whats the problem in detail...

A good example is Fox with the subs in 014.edt
The 014.edt file in data/mercedt is translated and is good.
The 014.edt file in data-1.13/mercedt is in english and I even don't know if it was changed compared to vanilla, so if it's enough to simply delete this file or it should be checked for changes and and translated by hand.

There are only 170.edt - 177.edt files in russian langfiles (data-1.13/mercedt), the same for r4870 version.
Why the subs for vanilla mercs were added to data-1.13 in new stable release - I don't know... hope you will be able to find the solution.

It is because "snitch" (hate or complimented a mercenary):
Data-->Mercedt
07.edt
22.edt
27.edt
29.edt
31.edt
46.edt
167.edt
Data-1.13-->Mercedt
04.edt
22.edt
13.edt
14.edt
15.edt
20.edt
31.edt
37.edt
40.edt
Other perhaps... I don't know.

I don't understand.
There is "vfs_config.UB.ini" file in russian langfiles.
But there is no such option in ja2.ini
There are only vfs_config.UBVanilla.ini and vfs_config.UB113.ini in base english 1.13 mod.

Is this outdated?

Also, there are some battlesounds placed in Data-1.13 dir:
244_attn.wav
244_cool.wav
...
and such

I think they should only be in battlesnds dir.

Hello. Please excuse me if i'm in the wrong place but...

So i've installed 7609 russian first, then AR and everything was dandy (save for freezes on win10) and then i discovered unstables and am now up to 8047+AR but, of course, it's english and i'd rather like it russian to the available extent (at least as 7609).
Is there something i can do right now or should i wait for stable? Also offering my help in any case.

The development builds are compiled with English language. If you'd like a Russian build you can compile it yourself using SVN and the source code or maybe someone is so kind to compile an exe for you.

Razor47 you can always use Russian speech with new English release by copying speech.slf, battlesnds.slf and npc_speech.slf from Russian vanilla ja2 and also folders with the same names (speech, battlesnds, npc_speech) from Russian 1.13 7609 official release.

Yes, this is how i have it right now because i pasted 8047 on top of 7609 russian.

AR had a brief misunderstanding with the loc file though.
