Hey guys,

right now I have a lot of work to do and meanwhile I have to find a new flat because my g/f and I broke up after 5 years and I have to move back to where I came from a year ago. Voor de Nederlanders hier: Ken je iemand die een goedkope kamer of woning in Leeuwarden of vlak bij verhuurt? Stuur mij dan een PM!

Aw well, plenty of time for the beta test. Interested? Send me an email (tox@webcodesign.de) or a PM.

Greetz,

Tox

An update is waiting to be installed. Hopefully fixes the "adding frames" bug and some others I found along the way. Also introduces a completely new color picker (modes: RGB, RGB565, λSL, HSL).

A public test link would be nice.

Getting there Wink I've got another bug report about newly added frames causing problems. When that's fixed I'll post a public beta.

I've got that added frames issue today also. Grabbed a latest update today. Added an extra frame to my Sti, saved it, but when I attempted to load it later the editor just gets stuck.

On a positive note this edited Sti still loads with the old Sir Tech Sti edit, and most of the edits seem to have been saved, though I'm sure I added different offset values, but I might be mistaken.

Thanks for the export tool, that comes in very handy when rebuilding old sti's that I need to strip frames from.

It seems that freezing/hang up happens not just for after you add frames.

I edited another sti's offsets, saved, but again when I tried to reload it later it, gets stuck.

Also would it be possible to number frames in the editor beginning at 0? At the moment beginning at one can confuse things, as the rest of the sti's in the game and their JSD's begin from frame zero onward.

@Tox is it possible to make tool for automatic creation of new STI from a list of supplied BMP/PNG files?
We have a problem - we need to convert GIF -> STI, but the existing editors/converters doesn't work good with that.
There exist a batch converting tool for STI
http://www.ja-galaxy-forum.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/277580/sticom_-_comprehensive_command#Post277580
But it makes corrupted STI from bmp's because probably the transparent color is not processed properly.

Converting GIF animation to a set of BMP's is possible with imagemagick, but I don't know any easy way of auto making then STI from single files with auto setting offset and key frame data.

New update available!

- Slight improvements on the color picker
- Current image number now starts counting at zero
- Fixed several saving bugs, now animated and non-animated files should be saved correctly
- Reduced the tilegrid size to increase speed
- Updated to the newest Flex & AIR SDKs
- Fixed low drawing performance due to too aggressive memory cleanup
- Guides now indicate which mode you're in (solid lines = view mode, dashed lines = edit mode)
- Added "open file" action (CTRL+O)
- Added version label and version number to the window title

And another tool that might come in handy:
STI Converter Alpha 1 (v0.0.2)

This tool allows you to convert JPG/PNG files to single page 8bit STIs via drag'n'drop. Drop the file to be converted on the app. The converter automatically creates the palette and saves the file as STI the same folder. Just take a look at it, should be pretty self-explanatory. If you have questions, feel free to ask.

Unfortunately GIF poses a problem because of licensing. You could convert your GIFs to PNGs using a Photoshop action and then use my STIConverter. I gotta correct myself, looks like importing GIF is very much possible, just not saving. I've added GIF support to my STI Converter. At the moment it can only process one file at a time, but I'm planning to extend it so that you can drop a list of files onto it. And at the moment it only saves single-page STIs, but multi-page support is on my list. Auto keyframing might be doable as well, but I don't think auto offsetting will work well - think it's easier to do it manually.
