Do you play with or without this option?

I'm playing the stable AR campaign at the moment and to be honest, I'm a bit annoyed with myself for turning this feature on. I feel the only case in which you have MORE fun without drop all is if you play solo-beat-em-up with night missions and melee only. In a "normal" game it is quite tedious. Plus I find it super gamey to shoot all enemies, but when you spot one with a cool gun, you start shooting legs, lobbing vac grenades, etc. just to steal it from him...

Having enemy equipment magically vanish makes no sense to me so of course I have "drop all" turned on (for soldiers and civilians).

How do you turn it on for Civilians?

And is there a way to turn it on once the campaign was started?

CIVILIANS_DROP_ALL in Ja2_Options.ini. Same as for militia (MILITIA_DROP_EQUIPMENT) which I have activated as well.

I used to play with this feature on because it made no sense to me, but it removes this factor of "wow i've got a cool gun!" you always have the best guns at your hands. it makes all the weapon caches,, bases etc plain useless.

Quite right. It does depend on how you move across the map though. If you go to Cambria or especially the central SAM site early on, you'll be swimming in guns at attachments.

Yeah, it works best if you follow the 'intended' progression and use slow enemy progress.

What is the intended route? Ever since release the "natural" route to me was Omerta-Drassen-NE SAM-Alma-Balime-Cambria. Is that what one is supposed to do? I'm playing with very slow progression at the moment, but the enemies at the Central SAM Site (which you HAVE to conquer if you want to make any use of the helicopter) dropped all sorts of sniper rifles and ARs.

The enemies at the central SAM site probably had elite units with them so of course you will get ARs and sniper rifles and machine guns and so on. You already conquered a lot, killed lots of soldiers and probably produced considerable mine income. Therefore I assume your progress is already high which gives the enemy good items despite the "very slow progression" choice.

I'm not sure. I'm only at progress 30/29 now, but I took the SAM site before Aldea, so I would have been a bit lower at the time. On very slow progression, that shouldn't yield an AWM sniper rifle, I think.

Oh, that's low progress indeed. This shouldn't provide an AWM which has coolness 10. :headscratch:

But you are playing AR mod so this may be pre-placed loot. I'm not familiar with AR mod but AFAIK you have to "live off the land" which means you have to find good stuff on your own and not order it from BR so it makes sense that you can find good items on enemy soldiers.

That's what I thought too, but in addition I have also since found several Steyr Scout, M24, M501, PSG(!!!!!!!), G3A3, G41A1, etc. all seems a bit early for my progress.

Yep, i also found PSG and HK SL suppressed in Alma, so i believe it is "pre-placed". Other enemies have lousy weapons.

I haven't been to Alma yet. I think I found the PSG in Aldea. Also found the AS VAL in Cambria Uni...
