Sup guys,
recently started UC 1.13. I know there are some mines on the map, but I just don't really understand wtf is going on. I've made my way to Calisto via subway from Atremo and I've fought some really tough battles, but managed to get a foothold on the city. However, I'm running out of bullets, out of medkits and I only have ONE REAL gun (Rude Dog's M4) and a Semi-real gun (Elhi's Vityaz). Wtf am I supposed to do? How do you guys generally start your UC campaign? How can I conquer Calisto when the AI has more meatshields than I have bullets!? I've only 2 IMPS + the RPCS and my hired merc's contracts are running out! Seriously, what am I supposed to do? I need a source of cash else it's GAME OVER!!!1
On a sidenote: when I order stuff from BR to Atremo I noticed most of the stuff don't end up on the box at the airport. Where did they go? I never make orders larger than 5 items, cuz I know stuff will simply go missing. Is this another "brilliant feature"? Or is the rest of my stuff on another crate I did not notice?

Initially, I'd recommend avoiding the subways. You can employ a similar tactic to the one used in the originals i.e. take hold of all but the factory sector of Calisto, using the cover of night to overcome the AI advantages. Spam militia as much as you can afford to, and take the factory. If you can't defend the factory, retreat into Calisto proper, then with two adjacent sectors you should have numerical superiority to defend against anything.
As for equipment, if you talked with NPC in Atremo airport control tower, one of your targets should be near Calisto Toggle Spoilerin my case it was the sector left of the factory, the one with the limo , the target and its body guards has way above average armor and armaments.

Greasing the palm of Pablo has worked since the original...

Ohh wow 21k, I wasn't aware of this casino up until just now. But its like with the boxing ring and the kingping stash in the original, unless you played the game before you are unlikely to venture there first ;)
Anyway, I agree, its a hefty sum (much more than bank vaults offer) and located in a very accessible location early on.

Its the cross-road sector south of your starting location (D9 I think), its named so on the map so you can't miss it. There is another casino south of troy, there is a substantial amount of cash on the premises, but not like thisl. Also Troy has a bank, I think its the one that was mentioned in the email, but its vaults are depressingly empty.
Other than that there are quest rewards. Most recent for me are the 10K in Port-kip if you are willing to make an enemy of the PIN group, and have a rather tough fight in the underground jail. (Some nice CQB hardware though) And there are the diplomat and his wife.

If you want good guns: I really like "civilian" (and target) rifles (and scopes) from Smitty from C4, but if prefer top military assault rifles and chinese guns (and scopes) they are sold by merchant in G1 (Drake), along with rarest ammo (AET and exotic calibers, including caseless for G11 etc.). Most of them is not cheap but in general worth it, chinese guns are cheaper than counterparts with about-the-same-stats but all ammo has to be bought, and in general they don't accept most scopes (chinese only).
On the other hand chinese scopes are accepted on RIS rifles.
Unfortunately I came late to port-kip, so I am not very impressed by smithy weapon selection, but I love its attachments and having quick access to grenades/ammo, also looking forward to sample the selection in Drake.
I also prefer assault rifles, this category appears to offer the most verity and performance so far, the farther I progress the less use I have for pistols\smgs\shotguns\rifles unless using a specialist (like Tex or Rude dog) or role playing a little (not all of my stuff are geared for absolute performance, at least it is now that I am not desperately loosing)
