Not sure there's much activity around these parts, but I'm not sure where else to ask: Is there a way to add items to enemy soldiers' inventory, in the config files, without making them ALWAYS drop the items on death?

Specifically, I wanted to give enemy soldiers grenades, medkits, and the like, and I know that they're able to use the gear I give them, but I've also noticed that if they have anything in their inventory that isn't an equipped item, they will always drop the unused portion when they die. This is irksome, as I'd like injured enemies to be able to patch themselves up, or for them to be able to chuck grenades, but I do NOT want to have an absurd surplus of free gear lying around after every battle. I'd appreciate any tips you can give me.

The loot drop behaviour is the way you described in the first part of your post. I've reversed engineered the loot drop function and made a mod that alters the chances of what gets dropped. It would be feasible to use my findings to create a mod that you described.
