Is it possible the r7721 fix is working in reverse? I have a civilian faction (Monarquico) loyal to the Queen ( <Side>3</Side> ) that will prompt a combat situation, and who the Militia will attack. I have been thinking that this is the problem -- but their Loyalty is set to "0".

I don't think so - the code is simple:

Possible Side values:

player mercs always have side = 0
militia starts with 0 but can change to 2 and become hostile to both player and enemy
creatures always have side = 3
enemies have side = 1
civilians have side = 1 by default but they start neutral, unless you make them hostile in GameInit.lua by using something like SetCivGroupHostile( Group.REBEL_CIV_GROUP , Civ_status.CIV_GROUP_HOSTILE )

That is not as I understood it, but I am too tired to look up my reference now. No matter, you read the code, and know for certain.

Just curious. After yet another Hiatus, I'm back. Is it possible to have the old portraits in 1.08, I feel they fit the style of the game more.

I'm not sure what you mean. I haven't removed any portraits, I've just added portraits.

You can tweak the INIs as you like, but there is no need to manually set any INI file. However it has been designed and playtested with these Options (available at the New Game Start screen):

Difficulty = Experienced
New Chance To Hit System = Yes
Skill Traits = New
Game Style = Sci-Fi
Inventory / Attachments = New / New
Progress Speed of Item Choices = Normal
Available Arsenal = Tons of Guns
Character Backgrounds = Yes
Enemies Drop All Items = Yes
Food System = No (but can be Yes)
Bobby Ray's Quality = Awesome
Bobby Ray's Quantity = Awesome
Improved Interrupt System = Yes
Inventory Manipulation Costs AP = Yes
Max Squad Size = 10
10 IMP voice sets are on by default, 5 Male & 5 Female (so set the Options for 10 IMPs -- of course, you don't have to use them all)


EDIT: Oh, I'll be releasing v1.09 on Tuesday . . .

v1.09 of Arulco Vacations is available for download at the blog's download page. Included is Sevenfm's newest executable (r512). The complete package is 802MB, and the Update from v1.08 to v1.09 is 57MB. As indicated by the size of the downloads, many changes have taken place, and I hope they make your Arulcan vacations more enjoyable.

This sounds really cool but its super slow for me, low fps, even on lowest resolution..

I have 2.41 Ghz intel celeron. And Intel HD graphics (dont know how high) and 4gyg ram.

It should not lag so much!

Is there anything I can do? I would like to play this mod.

B: (Is this mod compatable with JA wildfire maps and is there a way to load JAwildfire 0.7 over this).

I have followed installation instructions and are using Vacation 1.08

(I have windows 10)

EDIT: Fixed with files from the Docs folder that came with the installation. That say windows 8 fix, applied registry update and put the Dll files in the main root folder. No more problems at lower res now. Have not tested higher res, but this is gonna be great happy, This game runs Smooth!

EDIT: Game keeps freezing though for no reason? Maybe someone has explanation? Middle of turn or start of enemy turn, no apparent reason, just playing and moving the mouse..

I'm glad the fix worked for you. I'm not much help with Win10 as I'm still using Win7. I think you'll like the maps -- every sector has been redone with the aim of giving the Player a different tactical situation in each one.

That is a Win10 issue, I believe. Maybe someone can help you with that. Also, search the forum for Windows 10 freeze.

Depends on what you call "major". No new recruitables (though more are planned), but easily more than a couple hundred minor enhancements across a broad spectrum from maps to Merc starting gear to combat variables to enemy patrols, etc.. I played a campaign and made notes on everything I thought needed to be better, added more items & weapons, and also took many comments from Players and incorporated some of their ideas, and fixed bugs/glitches. There will be an update very soon, like this weekend most probably, that includes a fix for merchants not giving change, and (hopefully) a fix for the weird disappearing ammo when ejecting a cartridge/clip.

shy If I can ever stop modding for a New York minute, yes. I know it's been a long time coming, and I'm really trying to stop modding for a month or so and focus on the blog . . . really, i am!

No, don't! I really want to update the blog (and D.G. is always on me about that, but she's also always pointing out things to tweak . . .), and it DOES need to be updated. It's just that there's so much to mod I want to be comfortable with the way things are before going to the blog. I'm almost there (yeah, right! I've been saying that to myself for months now!).

I'm working on the crafting part as there is a problem with the existing merges from v1.13 because of something I did (which i haven't figured out yet). New merges include alcohol+oil+rag for a Smoky molotov and Empty Jar+marbles+C1/C4 for a fragmentation grenade.

The laptop is just ambiance -- it has no function in the game yet but at some point I will give it a function.
