Hi,
I downloaded the latest SCI (15/05/15) and work on it a huge amount of time (at least 10 hours !) to customize it to my taste (items/mercs/ja.ini/ect.. change).
Now that i'm done when i play all guns do a ridiculous low amount of damage (like 10%) so i must have something wrong...
I know in the JaOption.ini there are a line to adjust the damage of all guns so i checked it but it's fine (100%).
The item.settings ini is also fine.
In desperation I installed a new JA2 1.13 with the same SCI because i though maybe it came from the SCI but it isn't.
I checked everywhere i could think off without success and i don't want to lose all my hard work so if someone can give me a hint i would be very grateful !

Hi,

no exactly sure what 10% of damage means... though there is one other, relatively new setting you could check:
The TableData/Items/AmmoTypes.xml has these two tags for every ammo type:
<dDamageModifierLife>1.0</dDamageModifierLife>
<dDamageModifierBreath>1.0</dDamageModifierBreath>
These modify the life/breath damage dealt. 1.0 means 100% (so normal damage), 2.0 is 200%, 0.5 50% an so on. Perhaps during editing this was altered? Would be worth checking out.

That was it thanks Flugente !
Those two lines are JUST SIMPLY missing for every ammo in my AmmoTypes.xml file !
Don't know how that happened.
i just have to re-custom this file to my taste of instead all the damn thing happy

Yep, that's the way to play this game. I had situations where I was setting up a game for 2 days.

Nah... it was more the "huge amount of time" and "10 hours" in the same sentence that made me chuckle... I basically stopped counting hours some time ago... I'm currently counting years spent on tweaking the game. ;)

In comparison of the work done by the 1.13 modders here it is ridiculous for sure hehe.
But just to customize a new install it is a lot of work, especially when you have done it multiple times before and usually ( cheeky ) know what you are doing.

While i'm here i got another question : i would like to decrease the medical experiences points gained for using a medical bag during surgery (but not for regular doctor assignment).
I know i can increase the experiences points needed to gain a point of medical skill but then my guys who do not practice surgery improve their medical skill extremely slowly.
Moreover it does not solve the side issue that doing surgery simply give too much experience points regarding level up (my medic used to be over levelled in comparison of the rest of my squad).
I don't know if there is currently a way to adjust that parameter.

Same issue here using SCI_Unstable_Revision_7953_on_GameDir_2267, never touched that file but those two lines are missing for each type. I'm using notepad++ now to add them manually. Thanks!! Wouldn't have discovered it by myself..
Also I see I'm in good company here about the time spent setting up the game happy
