Unreal Engine 4 for next Jagged Alliance game?[message #341327]

You guys might have heared about the game Hatred. It uses the Unreal Engine 4.
Skip to 5 minutes in.

I just watched this video of it and it made me think of Jagged Alliance. I don't mean the setting and killing of civilian. I mean the engine, the isometric view, the physics and the destructable enviroment.
Some how it clicked.

What do you guys think?

Well, a JA2 game with that engine would definitely work. Seems good enough.

I just doubt that any company will be keen to do that in the next years, if ever. And no free-time modders will be able to, as the work needed is way to much.

I know now that it could never work between us, as much as we wanted to, it could never be! Not because you're a rabbit, but because you're black.

I think there's a thing on the engine made specifically for doing that. Can't link it because I'm too sleepy to go search. I just remember a sort of basic tech demo video in a very plain environment (clean, white. destructible stuff maybe).

IMHO engine is not so important for any game. It could be fun or boring regardless engine.
A lot of examples out there. JA2 is vastly outdated engine, but you still can have massive fun.

True, lots of modern games don't meet my taste because of their clean softened 3D textures. If it's about war it has to look dirty because war is dirty. We don't need a new engine for that.

i would like to see some 70s-80s movie ambientation, like in JA2 Wildfire the maps always remind me to a action movie, oh boy i got so much fun on those maps with the S&W 29.
