Hi all I am posting this on behalf of me bro.

He is using latest 1.13 and latest Aimnas.

He managed to take over the air port in Drassen and once he did he went to Bobby rays abd ordered some landmines for the pending counter attack.

He placed them on every fence that has a hole in them and all over the entrances.

He then placed the men covering every possible entrance.

He then went back to the map view and skipped time and BAM they attacked from the South.

So he accepted the enter sector and as soon as it loaded he was attacked as the enemy was all over the place right bang in the middle of air field,in buidlings etc etc It was impossible for this to happen so they magicaly spawned in on top of him WTF angry

Please advise is this rare or comman angry

Allowing scouts to see where enemy patrols are moving to would be nice, yes.
Sadly, this isn't the case... yet? ;)

What we expected to happen and I am sure has happend before is when he took the airfield and placed landmines etc and then set his men up and quit to map and fast forwarded time to wait for counter attack.

We expected the enemy to move in from what ever direction the entered from in this case the south.

But they never they where all ready in the airfield no mines where triggered etc.

To me this is a huge problem and kills the stretigic play of this game.

Why did we waste time p[lanting mines,setting our men up in good places for the enemy to just spawn in on the bloody run way and in buildings? it makes no sense angry

Sounds like a bug, dunno what Slax is waffling about.

Edit:
As usual, a savegame from before the attack and any customization you did would help a lot.

Hey DepressivesBrot long time no speaky happy how are you?.

I shall try to grab his save from him when I next go to his house.
I cant ask him to send it as he is currenty in the process of swapping internet providers angry.

Lemme guess, modified AIMNAS without bigmaps.
conquer drassen airport, get an invisible counter attack, save game, load game and end up with enemies all over the place?

Cause that's the only thing I can think of that's happening here

I have been experiencing this problem for several months with varying builds of Arulco Folding Stock.

Sometimes when an enemy group is supposed to be attacking, i go down to tactical view (from strategic) and they simply aren't there. I have to essentially back off to the strategic map, load an unrelated sector, then go back to the battle...

And suddenly, the enemy is spread out in the sector as if i were attacking it for the first time...except i was already IN the sector, and now i've got enemy behind my carefully selected ambush point.

This additionally happens frequently during massive counterattacks such as the one in Drassen.

So... you are prompted to go into battle, and the battle simply stops without anybody showing up? You shouldn't be able to load a different sector during combat, thats why I'm asking...

Does that mean that the error only occurs with that volatile release, or that it happens with all exes since r7862?

Not if the enemy is attacking and you were the static/passive party already in the sector.

No. If the enemy enters from another sector, they will start at the sector edge and shouldnt't use the map placements.
But in the above case, that part already happened, and he left and returned to the sector. At that point, that loading of the sector, the enemy is already in the sector as far as the game is concerned. Thus they'll use map placements. That part is correct, as the game can't do anything else due to lack of information.

The same effect can be seen if you travel to another town sector via tactical and the enemy arrives in that sector in those 5 minutes that pass instantly. During travel, the game has already placed them in the sector, as it cannot start combat during that sequence, leading the enemy that just arrived to be everywhere (which turns into bloody mayhem if militia is present, as both sides engage in CQB instantly).

Huh, so if the initial attack fails to play out correctly for whatever reason, the game just assumes you were both already there and spawns accordingly? Interesting.
Is that what happens when a couple cowards flee to an adjacent militia sector and then everyone sits there doing nothing until you load the sector as well?

Not entirely. The soldier is removed from the current sector and placed in the next one, but no code to start a new battle is in place. Given how complicated it is for the game to handle two fights at once, not that bad a design decision, really.

Apparently. I haven't played since i reinstalled windows 7 on my rig back on July 2 but thats what was happening, yes.

I'd literally load the map, run around trying to find ANY ENEMIES AT ALL, find none, load another sector, then load the battle again and bam, game loads enemies as if i was attacking the sector with no one else around. Lots of militia CQC.
