Arulco Vacations is meant to be played on b7435r7609 and hasn't been tested with any other build or release. The problem you have encountered might be because the icons referenced in Items.XML file have been changed. i don't know for sure. You don't mention if they still work as intended, only that the display is wrong. Do they work as intended? If so, the fix would be to change the icon references. However, I imagine there will be other problems associated with that file, as well.

For example, this is the icon referenced in AV (and b7435r7609) for the 9x19 Mag 15:
<ubGraphicNum>363</ubGraphicNum>

while the box of the same ammo is referred to:
<ubGraphicNum>783</ubGraphicNum>

I can't imagine that every ammo type was re-ordered like that, so this might not be the problem at all. I will need more info to figure that out. Is it every ammo type magazine? Do they still work as magazines? Do they load the correct weapons and the correct ammo type?

As well, I have added some items to the end of the Items.XML file, and the Items.XML file of the newer releases has also been enlarged -- so there will be problems with those items also.

.30 carbine hp or .338 lm ammo is afected,but there is much more[some ammo boxes show 1000 rounds inside]... .40s&w or 9x19 for pistol are ok.. grizly pistol in grizly starting gear have 4x magazines in .45 wm but it is an imposible to use them in gun,they have 1000 rounds inside each of them,same situation in wink starting where you have m1 garand ... i upload my quick save ... https://www.dropbox.com/s/v9la166wtbykuis/QuickSave.sav?dl=0

Wolf, I plan on bringing Arulco Vacations to the newest release directly after I release v1.05 -- which won't be until the end of the year, unfortunately. V1.05 will make AV fairly complete as a mod (I hope), and then I will work on v2.xx of AV that will use the newest release at the time. It's clear that too many changes have been introduced since the stable version for AV to run on top of them. I am not familiar with all the changes that have happened to the file structure yet. I hesitate to try to fix this particular problem because many other gamebreakers will crop up also. I fear you will have to wait to play AV on a newer release until I bring AV out of the dark ages of JA2. I could not even load your save on to my version of v1.13+AV. Sorry about that, but you'll have to use 7609 to run AV.

i cant find 7609*exe on net,so i use sci 7623 as base for av_mod .my problems with magazines is gone ... i think people can use sci 7623 instead of 7609, i dont encounter any bugs or problems

Maybe you should try your hand at the Citzena and Balime-West maps as a priority, Ed...I'm getting attacked there by 60+ elites every time...the coders have enabled the "counterattack" feature for the stable release as default for all towns. The maps of Azazel have done a good job at making the other town sectors more defendable, but they were done at a time when we were talking 1.13.602... roof glitches and building density as compensation for reduced gun ranges were addressed. Dunno, a school with flat roof on Chitzena mine maybe, so the player won't be overrun by attackers no matter what he does, an alley of ruins, stuff like this.

I'll take a look at them. I am currently playing a campaign for the first time in a long time (instead of playtesting), and fighting in Chitzena. So far I think there's enough cover from the 'jungle' to be able to manage . . . but I haven't had the massive counter-attack yet. In Balime . . . yes, horribly flat and open, I will get to that map soon. For v1.04 I did touch it up a little, but not nearly enough.

On the other hand, sometimes you just have to let the Queen take back a city -- retreating is not as bad for morale in AV as in other mods. I have modded the morale and reputation system to make hit and run raids, and retreating in general, a viable strategy.

Can you describe in some detail the problem with the merchants?

I know there are some problems with this release regarding files (camo portraits for the new mercs are missing, and the M.E.R.C. email about salary increases is also missing) -- my computer was failing at the end, and transferring the files over to another computer was very difficult. A quick check on merchant inventories shows them all OK.

As for the missing files, as soon as I find them all I'll put up a bug patch.

First of all nice mods, just got back from busy season in RL so just got back to playing JA2, dont know whether it is a bug or not, but i found some differences on how different merc uses AP on moving, some merc uses AP normally as they can run 6+ tiles even on stealth, but other merc uses a crap load of AP just to move 2 tiles, even when he/she was set on running and off the stealth mode, does the fact that the merc was seeing an enemies and was running to position indeed influence the AP amount used?

Have you checked what the mercs were carrying? They can't run far with a backpack for example and will also have a hard day with more than 100% load level.

Yeah first I thought it was that, but no, said merc does not carry more than 100%, just at 60-70% also backpack was off at combat start, always do that now. Kinda funny i think at first battle in Omerta, some merc can run like cheetah, some just crawling at snail speed. They all carry M14 btw. (IMP Merc)

Gonna try to got some screenshot later when im off work, still got the save, also wondering if this is recurring as in being able to be reproduced.

There does seem to be something 'funny' going on with energy use -- seems more likely with multiple IMPs in a game than with 1 IMP. I haven't been able to figure it out, but another Player who uses an all-IMP squad has reported it -- though in my playthrough right now, and in previous playtests, with 1 IMP I have yet to see it.

Edit: Sorry, I was/am at work -- I have playtested with multiple IMPs and saw that there is an unusual energy usage -- usually confined to one IMP of the bunch, completely draining the IMP of all energy, and it is a recurring issue. Use of canteen immediately restores all energy (which is also unusual). I have investigated and cannot yet find the reason.

Ok then, seems strange but well what can you expect. Might as well go the less IMP merc route, gonna make game beginning more harder but thats the challenge, or go solo and do hit and run hmmm. Oh well creepy. Thanks for the mod btw it is a fresh take on JA2.

Edited for avoiding double posting:

So on my second walkthrough ==> used 1 IMP went to San Mona instead of Drassen, team of 6 but only 1 IMP, rest is MERC and AIM and also plus Ira. So my IMP have decent leadership of 70, so attacking C6 then C5; on the process obtaining some nice loot. So here's my problem starts after battle in C6 i talk to Hans; solve the problem by putting a bullet to Brenda head. Problem solved, got access to Tony, problem is Hans said Tony stepped out a bit. So i attacked D5; then settling down in C5 for a day to recuperate my mercs. The next day Hans speech does not indicate that i had solved the quest to gain entry to Tony he only said the You Are becoming Regular, then spouting some random nonsense. So i save and move 1 more day, still the same thing. Question is Tony lost to me or anyway to bypass him?

Just tried out this mod, a very fine job. Never had so much fun in a game in a very long time.
Yes, I also have problems with not getting access to Tony, and not beeing able to buy from any merchant. The game Crashes on Frank the Bartender and on Micky? The explosives guy in San Mona.

That's a bummer on accessing the merchants. How about the other bartenders? Do they work for you? I have the same problem with Frank -- still trying to figure it out. I'm glad you enjoy the mod! One way to to continue, if you are so inclined, is to attack Tony or his gun smugglers, and take their supplies. All the smugglers and Tony have much more in their store rooms than in the original game, and should be able to keep you going with weapons and ammo. Each of the smugglers have different items, and increasing Coolness closer to Meduna.

I just saw your edited bit when I reviewed the messages.

By default Tony is set to always be there. Killing Brenda may have glitched it, I don't know. Did you check Tony's room to see if he's actually gone?

On the other hand, if somehow Tony actually is following his original script of sometimes being away, then he can be away for several days at a stretch.

I started a new game, my old game had slow equipment progress, this new one has normal. I now get in behind Hans and I can talk to Tony and even buy from him.
I am guessing that the slow vs normal progress is not the problem, you tell me.
But, Frank the Bartender is still broken:

Hmm. I have Frank broken here, but Tony & the Qunituplets work. I'm still trying to figure out why. The SMLE & Armalon work here also -- but then, you are using a different build, and not 7609, right? That could be the weapon problem. I had to add .303 ammo for the SMLE, and those references might be broken. The Armalon, however, uses .30 carbine ammo, and that should be OK. Both weapons are additions to the base 1.13, though.

OK, I just tested it out here and did not have a problem with any facegear. Check your ../Data/faces/FACESGEAR folder and check the file dates on all the files in there. They should be December 17, 2014. These files were modified by Flugente when he created the Shepard character on that date.

Also, are you running Linux? If so, check to see if you have duplicate folders with different upper & lower case words. If Windows, ignore this bit.

Nah all other bartender works, problem is on a new run to test it, i killed brenda again and got access to him. In fact on the old run i did try to blow the walls near tony, and yeah he is there, it's just my guts telling me that if after killing brenda you dont get to talk to tony (seeing at that time he was said away) then you pretty much screwed on getting access to tony.

some time when i pickup,pistol from d.soldier,gun is without spare magazines.i cant find father walker or brenda ...

That's because the pistol is in addition to their long gun, added in the map editor. I added various equipment to some soldiers in the map editor -- like side arms, canteens, first aid kits, etc, because the game does not provide enough on its own.

Father Walker likes to stay away for days at a time, it seems . . . be patient, he'll show up. Make sure to check his room in the back of the church. As for Brenda . . . I haven't had a problem with her not showing up, I will check into it.

In the Tactical Screen use the hot key " CTRL + . " (Control key and the period key), then from the menu that pops up select Fill Canteens. Not every sector has water to fill your canteens, but every sector that has people living in it, and every sector that has water on the map has water. However . . . be careful, some water is poison. Generally, you'll have the hint it's poisoned if the only source of water has an 55-gal drum of oil in it . . .

Edit: Oh, and on most coast sectors the only water is salt water . . .
