playing 1.7 with patch 2 , r239 .exe selected

i guess there are some items there that have to be the problem , because prior to that i fought there , did stuff in inventory all was ok

Yes, it definitely is an item there causing the problem. I had to sort some ammunition in Items.xml in order to attempt to squash the disappearing ammo glitch for some .30-06 & .303 weapons. I also had to check all the maps to make sure what happened to you in B14 would not happen -- but I missed something in B14.

I did clean install of ja2 + 1.13+update then 1.7 + patch 2 from start , checked if i forgot the patch , but from what i can see r239 is only in patch 2 and i am using this exe from start , so i think i installed everything correctly

tried your advise and deleted manually all the 30-06 ammo from those containers ( they were boxed x50 ) then tried to view sector inventory and still crashed ( though didnt saw any trashcan in tactical , deleted it picking in inventory and then using the trashcan in strategic in merc inventory , guess that is what you meant)

are that ammo type supposed to be in boxes at all ? while playing after combat one of the first thing i always do is unload merge stack box etc. , and notice that sometimes some ammo type refuse to box ... but its not really a problem so did not pay any attention to it

i think i did stack box even before opening those containers there and seeing they were already boxed after opening got me thinking that mby the game did not counted that area as " sealed off " ( .. mm like the gunrunners storage room - where you u have to manually pick up a item form the chest, place it on the ground and then be able to pick it from sector inventory ) and it did stack n box in the closed chest before i event got to it - idk i mby wrong big grin

i will try once again to search all the sector from tactical to see are they any 30-06 ammo left cuz i got in combat 2 or 3 times in there idk


EDIT: i think i found the crash related item - in one of the cabinets there is item 7.92x57mm Mag 20 JHP every time i try to pick it up in tactical the game instantly crashes

every other box or clip or gun or item there seems to be fine for picking n deleting big grin

different ammo bug

just found Barret M98 sniper rifle , when using eject all ammo button ammo did not eject , when tried to manually eject ammo - it ejected but dissapeared

This is all from sorting the ammo in Items.xml. This bug is really starting to annoy me. It's clear I will have to completely re-do the Items.xml, sort all the ammo into one block, check every map, check every related XML file, and release again. Even then, I don't know if that will fix it anymore -- as there is no reason for the Barrett to be messed up, and the .30-06/.303 were unsorted and worked fine in v1.06. There has to be something else I'm missing.

Anyway, as for the 7.92x57mm Mag 20 JHP . . . I found that somehow I entered the wrong ubClassIndex numbers for 7.92x57mm Mag 20 JHP and 7.92x57mm Mag 20 AP. You can download a fixed Items.xml from here. Unzip it and place it in your ../Data-AV/TableData/Items folder.

b14 works fine now crash is gone
as for the others - they are no big worries , shooting feels good ( consistent like the OCth system ), butt ton of stuff , especially like the new interface its easy on the eyes, maps are good ( i found some design flaws but nothing bug related )
as long as game dont crash all is good happy

I'll be re-sorting all the ammunition in Items.xml in order to try to eradicate the ammo glitch. I'm shooting for a Halloween release, so if you have any suggestions for ammo types or weapons with different size magazines that are not already in the mod let me know!

I'll look into the Bobby Ray's shipment -- I haven't changed anything except to lower the chance of missing items. Missing 22 of 24 seems a bit excessive!

As to the ammunition bug -- I'm working on it, but unfortunately it probably will not be savegame compatible. I suggest saving before manipulating ammo, and once you find an ammo mag that disappears, don't manually unload the weapon or change magazines while the weapon is still loaded. I know, it's a hassle, but most weapons are OK.

Unfortunately, no. The XML Editor has not been updated in quite some time, and can corrupt the XML files. We have to use a text or code editor.

'1048576' is an ItemFlag id and an AttachmentFlag id indicating the item is a "Taser" or a "Remote Detonator", respectively, and is used in 2 instances -- the Stun Gun and the Remote Detonator. As Sevenfm said, I cannot find it being used erroneously anywhere else.

I tried to make the IMP inventory flexible enough for the creation of any kind of character. As I cannot know what kind of character a Player will create there is necessarily some extra items that might be in inventory upon creation. There is a set of default items, and then items get added for each ability score depending upon the score, and each skill trait.

So, you get a default long gun (M16) and handgun (Beretta 92) . . . and then if you choose Auto Weapons you'll get an auto weapon, if you choose sniper you'll get a sniper rifle, etc. That means you'll have extra weapons . . . just give one to Ira, leave for the militia/rebels, or sell it. As well, in keeping with the original game you might get a 'useless' item like a porno mag (for low wisdom), beer bottle (low leadership), or something similar. It's for a momentary chuckle -- you can sell them off for a few bucks.

rg3 anti-tank grenade have wrong image on b.r shop,ihave instaled av mod on 1.13 based on 7*** generation build data files 2188 base,i post more details later.. almost everething work fine,some small bugs are present,but im not if these are not caused by me ....

That's good to know. However, I am committed to Sevenfm's Experimental 7609 EXEs because of all the AI enhancements and bug fixes. What does the 2188+/7679 add to the game?

Hi Ed, before I head off for a few days I wanted to bring up just 2 things I've noticed in my current game.

Throwing the M34 WP grenade causes a crash due to a runtime error (Could not load tile file: -)

The Bloodcat lair is split up depending on which sector you approach it from. Coming from north, the bottom left third of the sector is inaccessible. Bloodcats spawn in it but can't move and I cannot shoot them. Coming from the west, vice versa. Either way, after having taken all Bloodcats out in this sector (and talking to Auntie again) the Bloodcat quest remains incomplete.

Everything else works fine and I very much enjoy spending late evenings vacationing!

I'll check into that one -- I haven't had a problem using the WP grenades, but I haven't used them in a while.

Auntie has always been a problem for me -- very glitchy, sometimes works, sometimes not -- and I don't know why.

Hi Ed, back from a quick vacation in south France happy

I'm looking forward to trying out the 1.08!

From my current save game in 1.07 I got the feeling that some parts of the game have been tweaked maybe a bit too far. I get why morale increase in towns has been slowed down, but what to do to reliably get it up?

Apart from Omerta, I hold Drassen, Alma, Cambria and San Mona (minus the Mafia). Only Drassen has high morale (>75%), but even after finding Joey and taking out the Hillbillies, Cambria remains at 6%, Alma at 4%. I suspect this could be because I took out the monarquistas - which to Arulcans loyal to me are fellow neighbors and colleagues, albeit with a different political viewpoint. Resting at a snack shack or bar results in "citizens feeling uncomfortable" and a morale loss in the entire region... Together with the lack of food, the lack of support means I'm limited to just holding the cities or having to straight-up launch an attack on Meduna.

Where's the middle ground to instate slow but lasting peace in Arulco?

It's possible I went a bit too far. Alma is definitely a very difficult place to raise Loyalty in AV because it is a military town, and the population expects the army to be back in force. San Mona, Cambria, Estoni, Balime . . . also difficult, yes.

You can use a snitch for town propaganda. Snitches can raise the loyalty relatively quickly. Additionally, Leon is the only snitch able to be Military Governor without extra Leadership training -- and that will also help with global loyalty. Probably, a snitch is a necessity now because there are a few Facilities that only snitches can use; like Military Governor, Rebel Base, Border Checkpoint, or can use to full advantage -- A.C.A. Building & Military HQ.

Using 1.08, not sure if its a bug or something I did. But
1. I had trouble finding the drunken priest he isn't in the church nor the bar one sector above.
2. How do I finish the Skyrider quest? I found him, brought him to Dresden airport chopper and nothing.
3. Is there a file that list modifications? I found an x-ray device 2 tubes and something else, and cant figure out if i need them.

I'm also wondering about Skyrider, when he gets close to the chopper, he just makes one-tile-steps and gives me no dialogue. I un-escort him and then use him as pilot.

Ed, I get a bug with Morris, the head miner. After I recruit him, I get no more income from the mine. I haven't lost a battle in the sector and took him on my team right after the Drassen counter-attack. Apart from that, lots of bugs are fixed and the 1.08 seems very solid and is fun to play!

It's not something you did - NPC interactions are glitchy . . .

1) Father Walker sometimes goes off missing for a few days. It's frustrating, but he's a "man of poor judgement". He won't come back as long as you occupy both sectors as there's a chance he'll be in one of those sectors every time you enter the sector -- generally, D13 during the day (3AM-8PM), and C13 at night (9PM-2AM).

2) Walk him close to his chopper and he should start his speech. At the end of his speech he'll start walking to the chopper. If you do NOT want to recruit him, go to the Strategic Screen BEFORE he gets to his chopper. Otherwise, he'll automatically recruit when he reaches his chopper.

3) I've not put a modifications file together yet. All the current ones in AV are the same ones in Vanilla v1.13 (though that will change in the next update). I've actually never used the X-ray device myself. As I understand it, it will reveal the location of enemies but will do a random amount of small damage to the operator. The X-Ray Device is the complete item, while the X-ray tube, fumblepack & gum are what is used to make one from scratch.

Ed, I get a bug with Morris, the head miner. After I recruit him, I get no more income from the mine. I haven't lost a battle in the sector and took him on my team right after the Drassen counter-attack. Apart from that, lots of bugs are fixed and the 1.08 seems very solid and is fun to play!



NPC interactions can be frustratingly glitchy. I always save before starting an important NPC interaction (like finishing an escort, bringing Maria to Angel, etc.) because it can go all wrong for no apparent reason. With a save prior to the interaction I can repeat the interaction until it goes the way it is supposed to go.

I've never had the income from the mines not start, and I recruit the head miners as soon as I meet them. I have to chalk this problem up to glitchy NPC interactions. If you cannot go back to a save and try again, dismiss Fred and see if the mine starts producing. If so, then try recruiting him again. You may have to leave the sector completely and re-enter.

EDIT: I added the times for Father Walker in AV, just in case anybody is wondering about that.

In that case something went wrong for me, because I did circles with skyrider around the chopper for no avail.

Check to see if he automatically recruited (you'll be able to enter his inventory). If not, exit him from the sector and re-enter -- try, try again until he catches his routine and does what he's supposed to do.

Should we be able to equip plates on BDU pants? Overall BDU seem to offer a much higher protection\camo at half the weight than everything else.

Also after rescuing Mira, she and her brother joined my team, is this is the same deal as with sky rider? go to strategic map or keep them.

Arulco Vacations v1.08 Fix 1

This fixes a few attachment issues, fixes a few shopkeeper issues, fixes a few minor issues in two map sectors, fixes 2 graphic images, includes and adds support for Sevenfm's 7609en+AI_r303 executable, and merges Wulfy301's Alien Mod into Arulco Vacations.


Simply extract into your main game folder. This is savegame compatible.

Remember to point your desktop launcher to the new executable.
