Haven't played this game or been around these forums in a coon's age...

Is there *any* point to searching containers on any map as of the AIMNAS build on GitHub dated FEB 21 2016/Build v1.13.8105? 99.9% of the first several zones haven't contained anything. I don't want to miss any key/special items, but I also really, really have no desire to turn over every rock and open every container in every building on a map anymore. I read the FAQ, but given nearly everything regarding JA2 v1.13 has several dozen outdated versions floating around the web these days, and the fact that I did in fact find a single FA Kit in a bathroom cupboard, and a can of gas lying about on a farm, I had to make a topic and ask...

I'm really just looking for someone to confirm for me that it's still safe to bypass searching every nook and cranny and not miss out on literally *anything* worthwhile.

Thanks in advance!

At the moment there are very few items hidden in the maps. Basically a few first aid kits / toolkits in the starting maps. Those are mostly hidden in small sheds on farms. Check those if you want the items, but don't bother looting every house.

Thanks, smeagol! That's exactly the confirmation I was looking for. I can now get on about my business without worrying I'm missing something by not raiding all the panty drawers in Arulco!

Im preety sure im not good enough to make maps, but would you need help to put item data on the sectors? Its least i could do. From what i undestand there is no point doing it now, because sectors are going to be changed, but maybe there are some finished ones i could help with.

The main problem isn't so much existing sectors changing, but me moving around Item IDs constantly... I'm still sorting the main Item Index and constantly adding stuff, which will make pre-placed items go awkward for certain. That's one of the reasons I haven't added stuff...

Another reason is, that I actually want to use randomized items as map placed stuff (there are 1000 random item slots in the items xml for that purpose).

In order for that to work properly there needs to be a definition list of random items first, though and I haven't had time and/or interest setting this up yet.

Sorry for posting in the other thread, I should really have replied here. I was wondering: Is it possible to set up categories of items and then assign these categories to containers, so that e.g. every bathroom cabinet has a certain chance of containing one item from the specified category (or nothing)? I figure that would be a lot less work.
