I did a check to see if someone had a quick way of exchanging English voices for their German counterparts outside of having to download the Debug exe and ripping the slfs. Does anyone have these files or a quicker way?

Honestly it would be nice to have the option to select.

I have no idea why you'd need an exe for this, or what you mean by 'ripping' the SLFs (wouldn't the SLF explorer do just fine). But yes, you need to extract the soundfiles from a german speech.slf (at lest for the vanilla mercs) and place them into your folder.

Saren threw his head back and screamed in impotent fury, before falling to his throne, head in his claws, trembling in horrified disbelief.

Then he heard a faint chime as Sovereign subscribed to her ECHO channel.

If you want, you can donate to me. This will not affect how and what I code, and I will not code specific features in return. I will be thankful though.

I typed too fast. Thanks for clearing that up. Yes, unpacking the slf. That's what I meant. I was under the impression that the easiest way to obtain the voices was from the debug version. I only own a copy of english language version.

Edit: I have scourged Kermis for something with no success. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

Sorry for necrobumping but once i have the extracted files and i made the changes i want how do i recompress it back again? the decompressor doesn't seem to have that option.

Uh uh. I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well to tell you the truth in all this excitement I kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and would blow you head clean off, you've gotta ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?

You shouldn't need to recompress them, just use the externalised files that have priority over the compressed ones.

1.13 should already have an externalised SPEECH folder. They should work from there.

Nope, as long as your files are named correctly they will effectively supersede the ones in the vanilla SLF.

You'll need to edit the corresponding EDT's.
