New thread for AIMNAS related bugs.

AIMNAS Bigmaps is not completed yet, as it is more or less a one person project it will take some time to do all the unfinished maps. There is also a ton of items that still has to be added.

This thread is about all those tiny or big quirks and bugs that will show up during game play.


Report all kind of stuff that's weird (like Not for sale items showing up in BR selecion, missing/wrong item transformations, etc.) here as well. For general discussion stick to the main AIMNAS thread.

List of known issues:

-> long list of red error lines due to missing JA2options.ini lines (I'm still running an older exe version and haven't updated the ini yet... the game runs fine even with those errors)
-> NPC pathing (Quests have not been updated to bigmaps, this includes Brenda, Kyle, San Mona boxing, probably more...)
-> Estoni militia placement is off (along with sector description, etc...)
-> Militia Roaming has not been touched yet

Hi I'm playing JA 1.13 SCI_Unstable_Revision_8156_on_GameDir_2315 using the JA2 1.13_8167 exe on current AIMNS Github as of May 2016 and I'm experiencing some trouble with enemy patrol jeeps, they're boats... gunboats. The one you see in dock sectors, but since I activated the option to identify a tank even if only a part is showing (yay band of brothers what's that cannon leaning casually behing that building, must be a tank) well then if I only see a part... it transforms into a watchtower, like a sentinel tower, all that time being still a jeep.

I'll try and get a capture of the tower-mode, maybe it's only when its facing south? no idea yet.

I think jeep issue is fixed in 8168 build. Need to wait 'till it's compiled by Depri or compile it yourself.

Looks like the old developers sti files are still in the anim Folder in github.

As combat Jeeps are as well part of the regulöar 1.13 now, you can simply delete all humvee related files from anims subfolder in data-aim. That should fix the issue.

Btw... the boat could very well be a not intended Spoiler of Things yet to come. ;)

All humvee related ones? Inside the Data-AIM folder there are STRUCTDATA and Vehicles folder... now the only one resembling those jeep files is the one file called HMMV.jsd (Humvee?)will wait for another landboat to appear and then savescum til it fixes or well, play with landboats, not that big of a deal big grin gotta love betas.

I never saw the watchtower again, weird... I don't take drugs when playing AIMNAS, I take this seriously hahaha

Yeah, the watchtower was an idea we had at last years summer con as well. Was never finished though... Might have slipped into one of the github releases temporarily... don't worry, you're still sane (as far as I can tell ;) ).

Oh jesus I just got a picture, so the folder I have to rename is the one named vehicles inside DATA-AIM/anims right? gonna try right now because I renamed the hmmv.jsd to .old and still got this beauty you mentioned.

EDIT Yes it was indeed the whole vehicles folder, I just renamed it OLD vehicles and I hope I didn't break anything, now I see an enemy HMMV instead of a landboat ;) thanks

I've kind of noticed (maybe it's just me being silly) but whenever there's an enemy hummer in the sector, there's at least 2 or 3 soldiers that rushes to my deploy position, as if they knew I just entered the sector in that particular area.

Enemies rushing to your position is the old "seek enemy" cheating routine the AI sometimes uses.

Hello.
I recently discovered JA2 on my old hard drive and decided to give it go again. It's build 7609, but i don't remember which version of AIMNAS i had and couldn't figure out how to check it. Everything was fine until i got to Drassen. Got the city, saved Skyrider and after that the nearby SAM. Wanted to take the chopper to Alma, but there was no option for it and Skyrider is missing. So i traveled there only to find out that the city was abandoned, Conrad and general missing, head miner spoke to me as if i got his brother out of the prison already and the maps seemed to be unfinished. I used cheats to go around the map and all cities except for Chitzena were empty.
I tried to upgrade both 1.13 and AIMNAS to newest versions but i got a wall of errors and the only option was to quit. I'd appreciate it if someone could explain to me how to fix this issue or update everything properly.

I don't know if this a bug or a feature, but I don't have a possibility to choose entry positions when assaulting sector with enemy. All four edges are grayed out, so the only way to enter is to choose "Spread", and I don't like it.

1.13 v.8167, latest zip from the github.

Is there a way to prevent this? this time I'm attacking Chitzena's SAM and the 50 A.I. soldiers pathing to me is causing some seriooooouus lag, having to force turn the entire battle angry

You may be using versions which are not compatible with AIMNAS or completely out of date.

Here is Smeagol's Github with latest AIMNAS: https://github.com/aimnas/core
You will need to update to exe 8163 or higher as it is written there

Fear not, here http://thepit.ja-galaxy-forum.com/index.php?t=msg&th=20380&prevloaded=1&&start= you can get the latest unstable builds Depri has prepared, be aware that some you can download right away but sometimes they release the updated EXEs separately.

So to sum up, to play without any major effups you should get SCI_Unstable_Revision_8156_on_GameDir_2315 THEN get the latest EXE's that Smeagol recommends, copy & paste time aaand voila! game runs smoothly

PS.- beware of the kevlar armor + night ops upgrade, it will make your squad a group of Solid Snakes and you'll mow down everything during night ops lol best game ever... not even playing Fallout 4 anymore and addicted to this.

Just noticed that using last update the Ruger 10/20 rifle can't be sold to Tony. No doubt some item tag thing.

Thanks for the latest additions. Haven't seen any other problems yet.

Yeah, that sounds there's a simple entry missing... will fix it when I'm back home...

We really have to make a list of stuff that needs fixing to track down Bugs that might still be present.

I have a feeling that next update will cause a lot of confusion and include a lot of new item description bugs and the like... I added ~ 500 (possibly more) ammo items, getting a few of them wrong is easily done.

You likely know this already but the Kyle Tattoo Shop deed quest still crashes to endless clock when a merc gives him the deed. I see you make the money easy to take anyway (no experience if you do that) which seems likely to be an intentional workaround.

Hey quite new here but playing JA for a long time.

So I have the same problem, when there is more than 30+ enemy in one sector I have a serious lag, that won't stop, just a for a few seconds.
I'm currently playing SCI_Unstable_Revision_8156_on_GameDir_2315 and the latest AIMNAS from github.

Any solution?

Almeria seems to be done, as it have red cross on its sector on the map, but when entering it from the west, I get this message:

Good find! The map indeed had no West entry point. I fixed that. Will be in next Github update.

Possibly fixed in the latest shuffle (I want to get further in this game I'm in and didn't update this week) but you can merge/attach woodland camo into a rag's 4 slots...makes no obvious change and no green star; it's just like storing it there. doesn't happen with urban camo.

I solved the Weather error but not the Covert one.
The AIMNAS Skill Settings is missing these lines from the 1.13

I'm back after all these years... Anyway building concertina fortifications for some random tiles builds Spotlights instead, and u can't deconstruct them. Tried changing spot_1.sti and SPOT_1.jsd - nothing helps. Also some of the dirt tiles builds stacked wooden crates. If anything can be done to fix this would be nice.

That problem also occurred during testings at the summer con... don't know if Flugente already investigated or not.

Hi, D14 is a hellish sector for me. Played about 30h with probably all the correct working versions, but just now totally lost my save. It may not be the sector to blame, but:

1) Game is freezing mostly in that sector - after saving. I saved a game, after spotting enemy (sneaking around with throwing knives, and wanted to feel out). When I press DONE, game instantly freezes, and after mashing some buttons quits. Last time I used proper save was way too long ago. The 2-turn save thingie saved as well, when I tried to relaunch, rendering it useless.

2) It has happened before in D14, not sure, if I remember, but restart fixed it, this time it doesn't.

3) When I had mercs in D14, and regular 6-man elite group attacked, it prompted me to deploy units - of course with no place to do so. Spread = Crash, and generally loading and retreating was my only option.

4) I remember trying to enable real-time sneaking in that sector as well, which was the first time it triggered the instant-freeze thing. Been clearing that sector for about 10 times (ya, they keep taking it, and I don't train militia much), so in general it was stable, just now reporting that I lost my 30 hour save.

hmm something is with guns in .22 hornet i buy eight pistol but in delivery is only one piece,order for two rifle give only one in delivery box,pablo have coffee money in pocket ....

- Lauras SR-2 does not fit into her MP holster, even when stripped and folded
- .22WM SL don't convert to boxes/crates
- 5rd .308 ball still has the red tipped pics

- 8mm kurz AP crates but doesn't box
- quiver doesn't actually hold bolts and is thus pretty useless
- AG36 really shouldn't attach to the C version, the barrel would end somewhere inside the handguard
- Nikon Monarch and Z-Point should be incompatible

Found a minor bug. When you fold Zastava M70A and then adjust the stock back it becomes Zastava M70. Sorry if this was already adressed.

Hello,

I am playing AIMAS with, downloaded the coremaster zip 3 days ago, with 1.13 v8301. Everythings worked fine during the fight in OMERTA, but when I met Fatima and gave her Enrico's letter she didn't move, her speech was right but she didn't move at the end of it.
Did I miss somethin, I didn't see the child by the way. Is there a way to "activate" the rebels (Miguel's speech, recruiting Ira, food quest in Drassen...) without Fatima?
