Hi
After more than 1 year away from Arulco i'm playing the 8177 revision of 1.13
i'm pleased to see many new great additions to the game, thank you to all the people behind my favorite game of all time!
However i can't never suppress enemies at insane level
they got insane resistence to suppression or just they can't be suppressed?
i noticed suppression works fairly well at expert level, so
if it is intentional to make the suppression very hard at insane level, where i can find the variable to change it?
i tried to watch out inside "difficultysettings.xml" and can't find nothing about suppression.

I guess you mean Ja2_options.ini, and yes there are the suppression settings there but nothing regarding the difficulty level
btw actually these are my settings:

High difficulty level means high enemy level.
Suppression tolerance is calculated as 2 * ExpLevel, so most of your enemies will have very high suppression tolerance compared to your starting soldiers with low levels.
With default enabled NEARBY_FRIENDLIES_AFFECT_TOLERANCE option, every enemy's friend who is close enough and has higher leadership will give additional bonus (up to 5 points) to enemy's suppression tolerance.

This means, that most of the time your enemy will have suppression tolerance 18 and your soldiers will have no more than 5-6.

You can:
1. play on easier level
2. play with big team of mercs with high levels and many commanders (mercs with high leadership and traits)
3. cheat by using options SUPPRESSION_EFFECTIVENESS_PLAYER and SUPPRESSION_EFFECTIVENESS_AI
4. try to find options in that XML file to control enemy experience levels on insane
5. try disabling NEARBY_FRIENDLIES_AFFECT_TOLERANCE and/or changing min/max suppression tolerance levels

I think i'll go for option N°3
i just want to see sometime suppression take affect on enemies as well, even if it will make the level "easier" especially on isolated enemy soldiers
what is a suggested value for SUPPRESSION_EFFECTIVENESS_AI to play on insane level? 200 is too much?

Aimnas mod uses SUPPRESSION_EFFECTIVENESS = 150 and the following cheating bonus by default:
