Hi guys, here's a quick and -- hopefully -- simple question. happy I recently found myself the tiniest bit confused with the icons representing enemy roles. Flugente's topic on that feature's implementation answered most of my questions, but not in a definite way, so I just want to make sure I got it right. happy

As far as I understand, the icons designate the following roles/ranks:

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5541465/JA2113%20question/rankSniper.png -- sniper
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5541465/JA2113%20question/rankWTF.png -- I sincerely have almost no idea. What is this? A general perhaps?
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5541465/JA2113%20question/rankOfficers.png -- officer ranks, in order, 1 through 6. Did I get the order right? Are all of them used in the game? I haven't encountered a rank higher than 2 yet. I'm at the beginning of the campaign though.

The '!' icon is for a general. A limited number of generals exist in random locations. They give boni the AI in the entire country, so taking them out should be a priority. To even know of their location you have to interrogate priosners. They will flee combat and are always supported by a small team of elite bodyguards.

Officers have 2 ranks. The first 2 icons are used, the rest isn't.

Then he heard a faint chime as Sovereign subscribed to her ECHO channel.

They seems a bit shy, i never seen a General yet, and i usually use a spy to scout the sector and place some traps before attaching.

While they still show up, you only know whether someone is a general if you go that information by interrogation. Otherwise the role icon wont show.
