Vengeance: Reloaded has a number of new people in the M.E.R.C roster added but I am having issues with their salaries acting strangely. At the moment one MERC's departure date is showing up like a normal AIM merc and not a M.E.R.C merc. Which file do I need to edit for him to act like a MERC with the NA visible? Everything appears to be correct in his MercAvailability xml and MERCProfiles.

I've tried searching online, but don't seem to be able to find Headrock's guides, and the search function on here always leaves a bit to be desired. If anyone can point me to a guide or could shed light on what values I am missing please post here.

Going by the topic headings I may need to look elsewhere.

Any one else know what file defines a Mercenaries contract in the roster page/map screen?

In MercProfiles.xml you'll find the tags, Salary, WeeklySalary & BiWeeklySalary. M.E.R.C. characters have only the Salary tag filled out, with the weekly & biweekly at 0 (zero). A.I.M. characters have all three filled out. In-country Recruitables are like M.E.R.C. -- only the (daily) Salary tag filled out.

EDIT: Also, there's the MercAvailability.xml -- setting the when and wherefore of availability of M.E.R.C.s.

Should be MercProfiles.xml tag <sSalary>. That's the base value. Now if you have MERCS_RANDOM_START_SALARY = TRUE in Ja2_Options.ini this value will be randomized to a certain degree.
Or if you have MERCS_RANDOM_STATS = 4 in Ja2_Options.ini the salary will be based off the merc's stats.

Understood, which appears to be what I have in both XML's. Here's the values:

MercAvailabilty

<MERC>
<uiIndex>40</uiIndex>
<Name>Arsenal</Name>
<Drunk>0</Drunk>
<uiAlternateIndex>-1</uiAlternateIndex>
<StartMercsAvailable>1</StartMercsAvailable>
<NewMercsAvailable>0</NewMercsAvailable>
<MercBioID>44</MercBioID>
<ProfilId>208</ProfilId>
<usMoneyPaid>0</usMoneyPaid>
<usDay>0</usDay>
</MERC>

MercProfiles
<sSalary>150</sSalary>
<uiWeeklySalary>0</uiWeeklySalary>
<uiBiWeeklySalary>0</uiBiWeeklySalary>

But in game this merc has a finite contract stop watch and I can renew his contract like an AIM merc.

I'm also not sure why he should be showing 1.0 D/1D rather than the 1D/0D like all other M.E.R.C.s.

Strangely enough I did note Stogie has Weekly and Bi Weekly salary values too, despite being a M.E.R.C. but he appears to be working as he should.

According to actual VR SVN, Arsenal is <Type>1</Type> in MercProfiles.xml, this means he is Aim merc type:
Quote:
<!-- Max Profiles 0 - 254 -->
<!-- uiIndex 200 - can not be profile! -->
<!-- Type -->
<!-- (0) None (not used) -->
<!-- (1) AIM -->
<!-- (2) MERC -->
<!-- (3) RPC -->
<!-- (4) NPC -->
<!-- (5) Vehicle -->
<!-- (6) IMP -->
