Finally, ini options have been set to provide a challenging but fair game environment with the intention for balance, but one commit slipped through the net:

In the Ja2_Options.ini please set

; When set to TRUE will allow you to hire any of the M.E.R.C mercs as soon as the website opens.
MERC_WEBSITE_ALL_MERCS_AVAILABLE=TRUE

to FALSE


Also with VR having more than a few extra features, we also needed a few extra keyboard shortcuts, listed below:

- Ctrl+D - skip interrupts for this merc only (original interrupt system)
- Ctrl+Alt+D - skip interrupts for player team (original interrupt system)
- use [u] key to manually unjam gun*

*Due to 1.13 having so many gun jams an unjam feature was added where mercs can attempt to unjam their weapon. Enemies also have this ability and it is bound to be a common sight on the battlefield.

Hi, it keeps sayin smackw32.dll file is missing, which is not, because this file is just there. But its ok for me, I guess I am gonna wait until the final version is out anyway. I hope, its not going to be forever, because this finally looks great and I appreciate you stick with the old fashioned inventory too. Thanks

Issues with smackw (which is mainly for front end movie animations) could be just an install error and is an old problem, but not one I've heard for a while. Try installing your base game first and give it another go, or alternatively someone maybe able to upload another .dll file.

We may well have a new SCI soon with an updated exe for some of the more common bugs showing up on the boards. We have tried to cater to old and new players alike and personally I'm not a fan of the new inventory system, but at least having the choice keeps everyone happy most of the time.

Congratulation for this JOB! Just tried out, got a couple of Merc and tried the start ... well i am just shocked by the job done here .... someone really produced high quality!!! This is not mod ... this is BRAND NEW GAME!

We're still working on a new SCI update, but in the meantime have been updating some item files as a makeshift patch for a number of broken guns and attachments. Download these and overwrite your file in \Data-AIMv53\TableData\Items if you can't wait for the new SCI.

This should fix a number of newer weapons without attachments in SevenFM's list. These are untested so maybe back up your current files first, before overwriting them.

Hi Hawkeye, thanks for your work on the mod, having loads of fun playing through and figuring everything out, I always love mods that change maps and give me new challenges. Do you have an ETA on the next release?

No worries, Omega, I prefer to play with a new story too as there's only so many times you can play the same scenario.

No fixed ETA, but hopefully soon, dependent on code and our SCI technician, though better we hold off and try and fix everything that's been flagged so far. : aww

I've started a VR game seeing as it's the brand new(ish!) mod in Omerta town and encountered a couple of things that seemed like bugs at the time but now I'm not so sure. What is most certainly a bug is a typo in one of the references to a loading screen:
LS_Daygeneric.STILS_Daygeneric.STI
which causes a red error message but otherwise no real problems.
Will report if I see anything else.

btw what are the shortcuts for 1.13 Vengeance? I only remember shift+n for headgear and . for scope toggle but they don't even work speechless
Also, I'd like to use Joey's german speech files from the original mod. They were pretty hilarious, especially his maniacal laughter. Is that possible, if so which files do I have to copy?

If you'd like the German files from the original Vengeance you'd need to download that mod, then copy and paste Joey's lines from that.

Joey uses profile 071 in Vengeance Reloaded, I don't think that's changed from the original so you'd need to copy all 071_XXX speech files and overwrite them with the old ones.

By the way, where are you looking at that code from? I've found no such reference in the SectorLoadscreens.xml for such typos, but as I say I've been hindered by a number of strange loading screen errors coming up like yours where it seems like the filenames are getting corrupted or somehow adjoined with others with errors such as:

LS_DayGeneric.STI68.STILS_DayGeneric.STI loadscreen data not found
LS_DayGeneric.STI24x768.STILS_DayGeneric.STI loadscreen data not found
LS_DayGeneric.STI1024x768.STILS_DayGeneric.STI loadscreen data not found

Hmm this gets me thinking perhaps I should create a completely new filename to replace DayGeneric altogether as it may be conflicted with the Vanilla data? Though why it should be showing this error when I'm playing in 800x600 I'll never know.

ETA on a new beta release may be a couple of weeks away, all dependent on real life at the moment, watch this space!

What will be included is improved Bobby Rays and Tony selections among many bug fixes.

As I said, it's just a message I get sometimes on loading screens when playing. Most of the new screens load fine but the message appears now and then on a black screen when the file for that particular time of day and location (as a typo) isn't there to load.

I've stopped playing for now what with being put off by the broken shops and the cheats being disabled. Some of my mercs were captured and are starving and dying of dehydration in prison. Can't refill their HP nor buy more food for my other troops! I'll wait those couple of weeks and see if the beta fixes things. You'd think they'd provide bread and water, a little slop perhaps, if they bother to take pity on them... cheeky
