Hi,
I would like to ask you about some suggestions for ja2 1.13v8338 and connection with the mod IOV 929. I care about this connection mainly due to the design Flugente 'Increased Team sizes'. Well I instal mods in order -> 2 v1.13 (8338), mod Flugente, IOV 929. All beautifull and nice, the game is not even crash, but when I start the game, all the characters NPCs, imps, opponents are too hard to kill. They have incredible resistance. Also at the beginning, all npcs, characters, opponents are out of armor. Backpack can not be opened or shed. I tried to find the cause in the INI file. but that is not the source of ills. Through trial and error, I discovered that only after overwriting files 'TableData' folder IoV929 cause the mentioned problem. Here is my question -> whether it is at all possible combination of these modes? Is there a possibility that I could enjoy a big arsenal and the possibility of recruiting more than 32 mercenaries?
Greetings.

IOV is several years old. Meanwhile, the game gets more features, new data is created, old data is removed. In this case, IOV will likely bring along its own AmmoTypes.xml that lacks some tags, as a result all ammo deals close to no damage.

In order to upgrade, one would have to determine the last date IOV was up-to-date, see what has changed in GameDir since then, and adapt IOV to all these changes. This is a substantial amount of work, which is the reason this is almost never done for old mods.

Firstly, thx Flugente for answer. Secondly, I was trying to open by xml editor those files in tabledata dir in ja2 1.13 v8338 and check the difference between the files in iov, but xml editor in 8338 doesnt work. I cant open any xml files. Xml editor in iov is working properly. Anyway it is possible to configure those files from 8338 as same as files from iov from tabledata which I overwrite? Or my wondering about that solution is wrong.

The xml editor itself is outdated anyway - for example, it also deletes those AmmoTypes.xml-tags. This has to be done by hand.

Any editor that handles Xml files should do, such as Dreamweaver etc. But you'll need to know what you are doing as it won't be as clearly defined as the JA XML editor presented information.

Notepad++ is recommended. This will be quite a few files and very tedious. I don't have a list of all the changes, you need to read the GameDir svn log and trace back all changes of the last 3+ years.

Ok guys, I could say that IoV 929 mod is working well with ja2 1.13 8338. I'm testing it with your increasedteamsizes mod Flugente. Xml files that i edited was - ImpItemChoices, AmmoTypes, AttachmentSlots, LoadBearingEquipment and Pockets. In Pockets.xml i have a little wrinkle about the value called "pVolume". I dont know exactly which numbers will fit to the correct pocket. I dont have any description of the numbers so in game some magazines I can put for example only in combat pack. Is there any descriptions about the all values in xml files?

Nope, just what is as comments in the xml. Though I'm a bit curious why you would edit the Attachment an pocket xmls - to my knowledge there weren't any changes in these structures?

In attachementsslots there were value Quote:
<ubPocketMapping>0</ubPocketMapping>
which I added to IoV xml. In pocket was value pVolume which i mentioned in my post before. There was lack of this values in earlier version so i decided to add it to IoV xml files. I did something wrong?

I found a problem with training milita, all trained soldiers are females. Does anyone know what causes it?

I found the reason. In ja2.ini. Tactical Gameplay Settings -> SOLDIER_PROFILES_MILITA - when i use TRUE, all milita are females.

If the profile files in Data-1.13\TableData\Profiles aren't correctly filled all militia could become females I presume.

Sorry for ressurecting this older topic, but is there a chance of sharing your compatible IOV version after you're done with it? happy

I loved the IOV mod, but sadly it hasn't been really updated for years now as was mentioned above. (And the official chinese forums where it came from are kinda hard to decypher, even with Google translate)

Check here: https://jagged-alliance.pl/news832/przetestujmy-wspolnie-nowe-konfiguracje-modyfikacji

BTW: Based on the community effort currently starting playing WF + r8390 + IoV 929 combination. It works with exception of handling higher resolution in trading menu (works up to 1600x1024). This combination with r8338 works well also in 1920x1024.
