Bug: After using the ctrl+m hotkey to move all items in a sector to a specific tile the items will move after loading a save game.

I am currently trying to defend the Drassen airport from an enemy attack and before the enemy arrived I used the ctrl+m hotkey to move my large amount of stockpiled items to a specific place where I can prevent the enemy from getting to them, but after loading my save game (during combat - but this also happens when there are no enemy in the sector) the items have moved. No matter where I position the stockpile in the sector the items are always placed on tile 17054 after loading a save game. Sometimes all the items have moved, sometimes not.

I have checked the sector inventory to try and find a pattern or logic to the items that move but can't find one. For example: currently a desert eagle .357 has not moved but a desert eagle .44 has. Some, but not all, mustard gas hand grenades have moved... I can't work it out.

This is becoming increasingly frustrating because it means my carefully stockpiled items are out in the open and the enemy just walks up and takes them.

I am currently using version 8284 (17.01.29)

That sounds odd. Howewer, this might be a case of wrong hotkey usage.
  • [Ctrl] + [m] prints out memory usage in debug/cheat mode
  • [m] goes to map screen
  • [Shift] + [Ctrl] + [m] stacks and sorts items. This could cause items to disappear as they are merged.
  • [Shift] + [m] Moves all reachable items in sector to the current soldier
Did you perhaps pick the wrong key combination?

I have definately used [shift] + [m], my apologies for saying it was [ctrl] + [m].

I have played around with this a bit more and have discovered that loading the save game its self does not appear to be the cause, it seems that reloading the sector is the cause. If I use the hotkey to move all the items in the sector (airport) then load another sector (the mine for example) then return and load the airport sector, the items have moved as prviously described. It does not even appear to matter if mercs have left the sector and returned or remained in the sector the whole time and currently I don't have militia in that sector so they aren't doing it.

Could this possibly be related to the "get item" assignment? Is there something related to that which decides where the items are placed on the ground when the sector is loaded which is somehow being referenced and that is possibly overriding my placement using the hotkey? - No idea what I'm talking about here, I'm just making a wild guess.

Hmm. I can't reproduce that (with items moved to one location via hotkey and then unloading/loading the sector), and don't how the "get item" assignment would affect this, as it's only called if someone is on that assignment.

I'll look back at this if I get a new idea, at the moment I have none.

Thanks for having a look. I will keep taking notes on it as I play so that if I find something useful I can give more info.
