So whenever I play Jagged Alliance 2 with 1.13 + AIMNAS, I always end up having to quit because of a runtime error. It says that from my game it couldn't delete .DAT files so the game just rolls over and dies. I tried deleting those files and it worked most of the time for the session of play, but after that playing again then I get the same goddamn run time error again. It varys in files sometimes. However it's mostly these ones in particular, History.dat, i_A8.dat, m_A8.dat, and r_A8.dat. The version of .exe for the editor and main game is v8408. I am on Windows 10 so I cant use a version before v8399 because that version removes the random freezes on Windows 8 + 10. I am at a dead end, I really want to continue, I am new to Jagged Alliance and I really do like the game. Anyone got a solution? I am gonna just toy with this until it stops offically.

Also here is the game_log from my last play:

Don't install Ja2 to program files or any other system protected folder. Add Ja2 folder to antivirus exceptions.

I put the directory on my Desktop. Yes the game is in Antivirus exceptions. Still no avail.

Update: So far it hasn't done the error at all yet. That's a good thing, I will let you know if it happens again.

Game just runtime errored as I saved it. I am running it in C:/ja2 and this is what it says:

I might of figured it out, a lot of times I test weapons so I spawn them in thanks to the ALT + . cheat. I have the map editor open so I read the item ids. So it's just about whenever I save with map editor running it does that. Strange. So now I guess my question would be how to run main game and map editor at same time without crash.

Better open items.xml in notepad and search for weapon name to know id or open XML Editor (don't save anything or it will corrupt some data).

It was more convenient to use the editor as the .XML files have the stats for weapons and such and I just need the name + ID. If there is a list for 1.13 + AIMNAS or a way to minimize the stats of weapons and items that would be great. I tried loading a .dat file map in the editor, saving with a custom name and the game didn't error. Well atleast yet. That might be my fix but I am still testing if it crashes with that runtime error again.
