So, a few related questions linked by an idea I had for a standard loadout for my mercs in terms of armor, LBE, etc.

My questions:

1. The Ctrl-. (ctrl-period for those staring at the screen wondering what I typed) command "Take off clothes" - what does that do, exactly?
2. How does one, then, put *on* clothes?
3. Is it even possible to wear (for example) Kevlar vest, field uniform, and LBE equipment all at once?

My idea: Basically, kit up my people as being US military-equipped as to the basics. American-source uniforms, LBE, armor, plus the ILBE backpack and assault pack. Initially Kevlar armor components, later Zylon at some point to be determined. Weapons and other equipment would be the exception. Basically for roleplaying in my bored head.

Kinda hinges on the field uniform being wearable at the same time as the Kevlar and the LBE though. So is it possible?

And answering my own question, I tried to put on the field uniform. It goes in the armor slot. So there goes that (part of the) idea. Questions as to what Take off Clothes does, and how one wears clothes, though, those are still open...

2. Don't you just need to apply the clothes to your character (like drinking from a canteen)? I'd say this only works on a merc that has the covert trait. I never play covert so I'm not familiar with that feature.

3. This is not possible but you could wear a field uniform and add plates to it to get some form of ballistic protection.

put on clothes works on cover trait. Civilians like couple from US, Joey have some sort of civilian trait. Spies and covert operatives can wear civilian clothes but cannot have firearms, whereas disguising as army soldiers you can infiltrate enemy lines.
