I want to play 1.13 + UB, but the only build that I like is 4452 and it does not support UB.
I decided to get later release and recompile it according to my preferences. But I need source code. Can anyone tell me - where I can get it?

But it is said that it is "ja2 - Revision 8510", not 7609. Why so?

The revision counter works globally, that particular branch only contains stuff up to 7609 plus a couple dozen minor bugfixes though.

Can I compile these sources with MS Visual C++ 2008 Express and put the .exe file into 7609 GameDir instead of it`t own exe-file?

Now I have 2 questions:
1. Where can I find functions connected with tooltips on my mercs faces?
2. My new exe file starts ENG version of the game, but the old one started RU version. I want RU. How?

another question: when I launch game with my compiled exe-file, it works, but I get message - "this is test version, not fr sale" and "test version msg, no world loaded". why? is it dangerous?

You have to build a RELEASE version in Visual Studio, not a DEBUG version.

And you need to change the definition from ENGLISH to RUSSIAN in Language Defines.h if you want a Russian exe.

Open Interface Panels.cpp, search for
skills/traits tooltip on merc portrait

Same for Map Screen Interface.cpp

Thanks a lot again!

I see lots of text-colors in sources. Is there any way to find out in what file what text is? For example: I don`t like that mercs` names on tactical screen is typed white. I`m trying to find how to recolor it, but it is sooo booooring. happy

Here is another question: I don`t like how JA2 sorts mercs in in the list on strategic screen. JA2 sorts them by alphabet and I want to sort them by the time of hiring, so that, for example, if I have hired Lynx and then have hired Grizly - Grizly must stand BELOW Lynx.
I am goimg to search for it in module "Strategic Screen Interface", but maybe I am wrong? Can anybody give me an advice how to do it better?

In my game the mercs are listed by assignment and then by their ID that is also used for their order in tactical. The ID is given when the merc is hired with new mercs getting higher IDs so it should already be working as you wish. The order in tactical can be changed by pressing CTRL + left arrow or right arrow depending on the direction the merc should be moved within the team.
