Hello there!

I recently picked up Ja2 again for another playthrough (SCI 8548 on Game Dir 2415).
Playing 1.13 + Arulco Revisted.

I noticed that quite a few things have changed since my recent playthrough and one of those things was for example the ?inbuild? stocks on certain weapons like the Skorpion for example.
At first I didnt think much about it when I wasnt able to remove the stock from the gun cause afaik the Skorpion comes with a folding stock by default.

What got me wondering though was the following:

One of my mercs had found a SIG SG552 in some container earlier on which I wanted to attach a folding stock I found way before. Unfortunately the game wouldnt let me do it, saying that i cannot attach a folding stock to that slot.
Thing is though, that the description on the gun slot says otherwise.

Therefore I am somewhat confused now and not sure if this is a bug or something I am missing on my end?

Could someone clarify?

It seems some modifications were made to the attachments code which may have caused some issues. I made a thread about bipods in which Flugente replied that the issue was fixed in the latest game dir. I'll be updating to that dir soon.

It's the most recent convenient download. Newer stuff is of course available via SVN as soon as it's committed.

There were no code changes to attachments. I recently made a few ARs have inseparable scopes, and made some MGs/ARs have default bipods instead of having the bipod boni on themselves. I did a typo on the FAMAS which has since been fixed.

In October '17 unremovable stocks were added to many items, ask silversurfer or Cardinal about that.

"I don't see why not."

If you want, you can donate to me. This will not affect how and what I code, and I will not code specific features in return. I will be thankful though.

The problem with items on maps is that they are saved with the map. At that time the SG552 didn't have the inseparable folding stock. Now it has or at least new SG552 will have it, for example when you order one from BR or find it on unfortunate enemies.

As Flugente mentioned the new inseparable stocks have been added in October 2017. You can find some more information about the change here. Just like normal folding stocks there are item transformations that allow to easily fold/unfold the stock.
