Hello guys, I bought an HK21E from BR, but surprisingly not able to attach a bipod. The slot says only foregrip possible. But who needs a foregrip for a super heavy MG?? angry
Is this a bug or what?

Sorry, edit: Only foregrip is possible

No idea. When I create a HK21 it comes with a bipod attached to it. The tooltip says that it can take a bipod or foregrip. Looks fine to me.

If you just want to test it you can enter cheat mode with "CTRL" + "g" and then press "ALT" + "." to get a box that allows you to enter an item ID that should be spawned in your merc's inventory. ID for HK21 is 36.
Activating cheat mode is noted in your campaign history so if you don't want that just save before you test and reload afterwards.

Weird, here in r8517 the 21e only accepts a foregrip,
btw does not change if the <bipod> entry is removed in items.xml,
so i wonder to which install you refer or whether something is wrong in my install.

To help compensate the recoil

I'm using the current revision 8558 on GameDir 2423.

I was rather sure that you use the latest release,
just could not imagine that someone would steal the bipod from the 21e,
but looking at the (still uncomplete) 8555 install,
the terrible suspicion arises to me that another crime/leje majeste/sacrilege has been commited;)

The <bipod> tag in Items.xml means it has a built-in bipod. You can't remove it nor put another one on.

Aha, so what you are saying is - there's a built in bipod. That's the reason I cant attach one... then there should not be any problems. Thank you.

Yes. Built-in bipod. You're welcome!

If you're playing the standard 1.13 game there is no built-in bipod on the HK21. It only has the bipod as default attachment which can be removed or replaced by a foregrip.

Didn't you just change that recently. Didn't it have a built-in bipod until last month?

Yes, while several years old "misplaced items" bug still exists and "stand up from suppression when prone" bug appears to have been born,
someone put effort into removing built in bipods of 23e, m60e, famas g2, aug hbar, stey scout and perhaps more,
my prog fails to synchroize at #728, and i didnt see a reason to invest time for the remaing entries.
Anyway the effort to remove bipods which are mounted in a way that allows simultaneous use of foregrip, ugl etc
for a reason that must be far beyond my horizon,
will cause additional effort for the gazillions of players like me who dont accept those changes,
and are forced to put in time for giving the "rightful";) properties back to those items,
instead of only the usual suspects like the WA 2000 which has its specific built in bipod.

These changes even cause Einstein to turn in his grave
because the mass stayed the same although something was removed! :D

Besides, the built in "bipod" of the scout are 2 wobbly/flabby plastic legs which are part of the handguard,
they should not give the full bonus of the standard (and admittedly still crappy) metal bipod.
Removing that part of the handguard should result in handling penalty :p

Flugente changed that in GameDir 2414 in March. Yeah, time goes fast. big grin

I can't say anything about the changes themselves, if they are correct or not. To me only the Famas looks suspicious because the original Famas had a built-in bipod that was fixed and couldn't be removed according to information I could find.
