Hey! Wanted to thank everyone for creating this new mod. I am anxious to play it.

I am having some trouble installing the http://kermi.pp.fi/JA_2/Mods_v1.13/Vengeance_Reloaded/Vengeance_Reloaded_Beta_02.07.2018_v7609_English_Full.7z

I am using windows 7 and all the software is up to date. I am trying to install the mod using WinZip and I direct the down load to my Jagged Alliance 2 Gold folder. What happens is that the mod downloads into it's own separate folder within the Jagged Alliance 2 gold folder; it doesn't seen to integrate or over write any of the file with the original JA2 game. It looks like this: see upload one

Additionally, when I click on the JA2 Vengeance exe, I get this message: see up load 2

I understand that I am lacking in computer skills which limits me.

I was hoping some one might be able to help me figure out what I am doing incorrectly so that I can get into this game once again.

Appreciate your assistance.

1. download VR SCI into separate folder, unzip it there
2. make a copy of you clean ja2 installation (so you will keep clean original files for other mods)
3. copy all files from your unpacked VR SCI into clean Ja2 folder, make sure Ja2_Vengeance.exe is in the same folder with original ja2.exe
4. run Ja2_Vengeance.exe (set your resolution in ja2.ini before if needed)

Notes:
- don't install game into Program Files or any other protected folder, better use something like c:\games\ja2
- don't run original ja2.exe after you installed any mod into the game folder (better delete it as it's not needed and 1.13 uses it's own exe)

Thank you very much for helping me get the game installed, you assistance was most appreciated. I followed you steps and the game is installed and working.

I tried using the XML editor and it would not open. I have attached two screenshots of the messages that explained why it wasn't working. I was wondering if I needed to get other or updated files to address the conflict going on when the editor tries to open.

Again, your help would be much appreciated.

VR team doesn't use XML Editor as it wasn't updated for a long time to support new tags and there were problems with broken XML data when using it.
So if you want to modify game files it's better to use notepad and open XML files directly in text mode.
Also, there was a minor bug in merges.xml, which prevented XML Editor from starting. It will be fixed in next release.

Thanks again for your help! I played the 1.13 v.7435 for a long time and those functions worked in the rendition of JA2. Stuff changes. i loooked at the notepad editing option you brought up and that is a little too far in the deep end of the pool for me to swim around. So, I will stay with what is the current gear and play smarter.

Thanks for your generosity in addressing my "noob" programming lack of abilities. Thanks and have a awesome day!!!
