Can you imagine how awesome it would be if we could click play and watch the replay of a battle on a map? big grin

I don't know if it is possible within the limits of the game engine, but watching your (real-time) replay recording of the turn-based battle would be like watching your own action movie with lot's of tactics and wtf moments!

I remember Flugente experimenting with a real-time version of the game in the past. Could it be maybe possible to record the battle on a map and replay it with that real-time mode?

I once had that idea, but the work is huge, the gain is mostly looking at a pretty thing that's useless...

Could been usable for recording of speedruns (also with ability to jump into player's seat any moment for a viewer), and work is not that huge with source code readily available. But i guess speedruns in JA2 dead long ago, and it still huge enough to bother "just in case".
