I had no idea you could use "spies" or build sandbag fortifications (though only in sectors you control w/ militia). Am I missing any other less than obvious features?

Particularly anything that could come in handy when capturing the sector next to Drassen airport. I quickly get spammed with 20-30 troop-reinforcements and my 4 guys can't do much even if they score a few kills.
