How to disable NCTH?[message #356081] Sun, 02 December 2018 13:36 Go to next message

Hi, I am new to the forums and would like to introduce myself as new player of JA2, let alone its wonderful 1.13 mod.

Being a complete noob, I am trying to look for a way to disable NCTH to help me get through some rough patches in the game, but for the life of me can't find the toggle.

First of all, I'm playing the 1.13 version that I managed to install using the SCI, revision 8633

In the INI Editor I think I found the solution to my problem...it says FALSE, but the description to the setting has MISSING: PROPERTY DESCRIPTION. Is this some kind of error?

Then I searched the forums and googled for this simple answer and managed to get into my thick skull that I should look in either the Start New Game option or the option that I can access through preference.

I can't find any mention of NCTH in the options for the life of me that I can toggle.

If anyone can help me or steer me in right direction, I will be grateful. Thank you!

Welcome to the forum @Applegong

Looks like you already have ncth disabled, according to ini setting and appearance of cursor in your(?) YT video.
If you want to get the classic cth cursor,
i guess the switch to deactivate "show progress bar on cth cursor (or so;) is still found in the ingame options.

Classic/new cth switch was recently moved to the ini file, the property description may have been forgotten or deemed unnescessary.

Thanks townltu! I hope I got the settings right, but I didn't change anything in the .INI file so I guess ncth is disabled by default in this revision.

And you are very much correct, I just started to play the game on YT!
