v1.11 of Arulco Vacations is ready to download at the usual place.

I have merged elements of the SDO combat system into AV. I am eager to hear feedback on this as it is a big change.

There's a new merchant in Alma - Raul Mendez from Unfinished Business.

There has been a lot of work on the Facilities to allow for different play styles. I need feedback on how they now work together with different players styles so I can tweak them in the future. There are Facilities to allow for a supposed criminal partnership with Kingpin as his henchman, Facilites to allow the Player to become a tyrant Warlord with Secret Police and a Death Squad, and on the other side there are more facilities to allow the Player to win the hearts and minds of the Arulcan people as well as their freedom. Of course, using Facilities for all of this distances the Player from the supposed events happening while they use the Facilities - but there are enough benefits and penalties to the various Facilities that they should give a Player lots to think about if they are so inclined to try. I think there is fun in that, and that's why I included them. But like so much else in JA2 v1.13-Land . . . you have many options, and very little is mandatory

There are also several new or expanded civilian Factions in v1.11, and there can be civilian rebellions - certain factions will rebel against the player or both the player and the Queen if one if their Faction is injured or killed. There are new Facilities to win the hearts and minds of these discontented Factions to keep them happy, but once they revolt there is no turning back. For the player who wants to start Armageddon in Arulco . . . you can now rest assured you can wage war against almost everybody if you so wish.

Many of the maps have been tweaked to make them easier to move around in, and to be more fun to fight in. Army patrols and garrisons have been tweaked. Merc & IMP gear kits have been tweaked.

Many new weapons and gear have been added . . . including incendiary shotgun shells and the new Arulcan experimental XM-42 Flame-Thrower.

Much more has been done - it's been a long 8-9 months of fixing, adding, tweaking, and testing. Now I need other eyes on it, other hands playing it. We all play differently, and I welcome feedback from your point of view on how AV works with your style of play.

bombs section at b.r shop,i cant go from page 3 to page 4,mod going to black screen 2188 data/ 7679 exe,using custom exe from av 11 package,scorpio vz 61 have magazine capacity 10 or 20

Sorry to be a pain Ed, but Mediafire doesn't work for me (website blocked in china, and when i use a vpn the downloads don't start correctly).

Is there another host you could use for the file?

I'm currently running 1.10 via sevenfm's modpack, will i be able to paste the new version over the old one?

Does 1.11 intergrate the latest +ai exe(r946) developed by sevenfm?

(edit: cleared browser cookies and now i can download)

I'll check those bombs and see what's up. I know the Skorpion's mag size - but to make an accurate mag size means adding a mag size in that calibre, which means moving a whole lot of numbers around in a couple of XML files . . . and I figured a close approximation using what was already there is OK because we already do that for many weapons.

I noticed during a new campaign that neither of my paramedics (Ira and Thor) can perform surgery out of combat?

Didn't test in combat yet, but i seem to remember when trying to give medical aid with a med-kit during combat i was not offered the usual option to perform surgery either.

I raised the qualifications to do surgery in v1.11 to Doctor skill (paramedic x2). See in SkillSettings.ini

NUMBER_OF_TRAITS_NEEDED_FOR_SURGERY = 2

Also in JA2Options.ini the Medical skill needed to deal with less than 15HP of life left was raised:

BASE_MEDICAL_SKILL_TO_DEAL_WITH_EMERGENCY = 40

Because, being a medic myself, I always thought it was too easy to heal stats back up. However, I increased the effectiveness of care from Vince or Steve at the Hospital to partially compensate.

Ouch! Now that needs an immediate fix for the SKS. Here is a fixed Weapons.XML - unzip and place it in your ..Data-AV/TableData/Items/ folder.

I'll fix that graphic later, and check on those suggestions!

I will refresh the complete download (without changing the version number) so anyone downloading the complete v1.11 after this mesage will have this typo fixed.

I can verify Wolf00's comment, concerning the black screen when flipping through the bombs pages in the BR website. Having the same problem in my game also.

And something i forgot to mention on the 1.10 version, it exists in 1.11 as well. Drassen airport, the little enclosure with the shed, just to the left of the enclosure where we receive our shipments. In that little shed, there is entrenching tool which is inaccessible due to some clutter in front of the shed. The tool is not important, we can get them everywhere, and the blacked out slot in sector inventory soesn't appear to cause problems. Just annoying to see it there. Do inaccessible items can cause problems down the road ? And is it possible to remove that clutter with a small patch ?
Anyway, i thought i'd mention it, just in case.

The bombs thing - probably a wrong number (typo) somewhere . . . just gotta find it.

Inaccessible items don't cause any problems, but I can fix that particular problem easily, and will post a link to a new map file later today.

EDIT It is now later today! Download this map fix, navigate to your ../Profiles/UserProfile_ArulcoVacations/ folder and unzip there. It should place 1 file in a MAPS folder and 1 file in a RADARMAPS folder.

Alternately, you can take the map file and the radarmap file and place them in their respective MAPS and RADARMAPS folders in your ../Data-AV/ folder.

In the in-game Options you can allow or disallow Zombies. Allow is the default in AV.

Zombies have always been enabled - but for the last several releases have been set so low they do not appear.

Yes, all the Terrorists are hirable. Fatima, Father Walker, Dave, Arnie, and more are all on the list to be made recruitable.

Yes, I thought about it. I think Grumm is a more likely place for harbour shipping . . . Chitzena would be smuggling by motorboat.

Grumm is at the center of the map, the perfect place to receive shipments. All it needs is a small airport, or delivered by truck from Drassen maybe. Or you can expand Estoni, as it is in Arulco Revisited. It's a pity why so much real estate goes to waste.

On a side note, i went to Chitzena to check on Slay. Haven't met Carmen yet and don't have the disk but Slay's responses are the same as in AV 1.10, where i did give him the disk.'ll try again when i get the disk. This was a test save.

Just in case it isn't known - in AV you can receive shipments in G9 Cambria at the "Delivery" warehouse building run by the Rebelista. It is locked up at night.

Yay at the new vehicles. New wilderness maps look very nice, with increased vegetation and stuff, they're very much to my taste. Liked the Cambria fences and the Meduna changes.
