Now I know we already have 3 types of music. Battle, tension and peaceful.
But can we have something like location based soundtracks. For example, desert areas have it's own 3 tracks (battle, tension, peaceful), and so does forest, swamp, grassland/farms areas, maybe even cities...
And of course, with the ability to customize tracks.

Turn off the game music completely, before playing, go to YouTube, find a soundtrack like Commandos 2, put it on Loop and you're golden. Or if you have any mp3 playlists, anything but that 20 year old boring 3 tracks. The game becomes a lot more enjoyable with varied tracks. I use Commandos 2, Deus Ex, Dragonheart, Warcraft 2, Starcraft and a lot more.

I much prefer the tracks being triggered by the game instead of non adaptive background music,
therefore I replaced the original game music files with various sets of my own taste.
It would be really nice to have individual music for each sector or at least of same terrain type.
Independant from that, a playlist that allows to have multiple tracks, with option to either define a fixed queue or random play,
and either a fixed length or even random range for a pause between songs.
Even more immersive but perhaps a "little" to much effort to code and create/cut the songs would be really dynamic music,
like e.g. in SSN-21 Seawolf from 94 where the game selected backgroud music (and probably varied speech&pitch of same song)
according to the general threat lvl for your submarine.
It may have been somewhat treacherous about those dangers the player was unaware of,
but it did a hell of a good job for immersion;)
