 Anyone else ever started a game where no AIM merc's were deployed? I have an Expert game saved before going to IMP that no AIM mercs are deployed.

 Your special . I usually have to keep restarting just to get one or two mercs i really want , a big pain . I'd save that game and cherish it . :luckystrike:

 It happened to me one time. I should have saved it, in retrospect. I hate it when I get my mind set on a kick ass team & I have to keep re-starting just to get those certain Mercs.

At the same time, I also enjoy the challenge of having to work with what's offered. There have been a few times that I've gotten stuck with Mercs I either hate or find useless or both(Vicki Waters, anyone?) and have had some good games. The dynamic is usually different to what I'm used to and I learn new tactics that I can carry over to other games.

 I'm pretty sure it happened to me a few times... but I'm not sure. Usually I don't pay much attention to that, as those that are usually taken are the high-level ones like Shadow or Reaper, and I usually start with lower-level mercs.

 I dont tend to start with high level merc's either .... Usually Len & Sydney or Len & Shadow are my top two that I often use as squad leaders!

I often have to restart to get the squad I want as well... I would like a option where everyone is available at the begining of the game... Then after that i dont mind them not being available

How about if I post it here for free? I know the thread is very old but I just got back into JA2 as I'm no longer going balls to the wall on Civ4 and Operation Flashpoint 1985.

 Usually, three mercs are busy on other assignments and during the game three random mercs get KIA... And it seems that Nervous, Psycho, Forgetful (I don't remember if other traits counts) mercs have higher chances of getting KIA, but that's another story...

 In about 300 new games I've never had one come up where somebody wasn't out on deployment on day 1.

But as to the original question, I put that up to my grandmother, who wisely told me that "Everybody is special." Wink
