i play sifi mode and the bugs attack random places outside the infested mine mostly the drasen airport sometimes the grum mine...

 Sounds like expected behaviour to me, please be more specific which part is strange. Once the bugs reach a critical mass, they start attacking town sectors. I don't remember though if they also infect more mines.

they never attacked drassen mine. the just attack the airport und some timers the sectors where my merc are angry dont know if this bug existet in the game 1998 but its insane

 Every sector of the town where the giant bugs are has a chance to be attacked. If I remember well, when a new day begins, the game looks if there are enough monsters underground to launch an attack on a surface sector. The sectors are weighted according to their type (residential, mine ...) but I can't remember more. "Enough monsters underground" means that the first level of depth is populated. If you kill the bugs at that level, the attack on a surface sector is cancelled and the bugs will repopulate the underground instead. The giant bugs never spread to other mines.
