Hi all,

I've been coming back to this forum for years now, hoping to find some new information about JA1 and/or DG. Also Googling every now and then and looking on kickstarter just to see if there is anyone out there trying to make something for two of my personal favorite pc games ever (I still play them today). For DG it could be an expansion (another campaign, extra mercs, stuff, etc.) and for JA1 maybe a new game (new island, new dictator and so on). So, I decided to give it a go and registered here to find out if there is anyone here that knows anything about this. Because if there is a project out there, I would love to support it (shut up and take my money :-)). Also, if you have any resources like people to contact, studios to check in with, forums to hang out on and so on I would much appreciate it.

Best regards,

Mark

Don't know if any projects like you're looking for are worked on at the moment. But this one is done allready and might fit the bill.

Jagged Alliance 2/1 Metavira

At JA2/ UB /JA2 1.13 Mods Download & Install Guide, you may find some other "old-school"-mods of interest.

In JA2-1.13, there is a feature called "Briefing Room" which I assume is close to DG. Not sure if any mod ever used this (the feature lacks useful description, maybe that's why), but maybe some in the above list did, not sure.

Thank you! Not really what I'm looking for though. I've never been a fan of the JA2 look and feel. Don't know if that's something bad to say over here :-)
I have been thinking about starting an open source project for Deadly Games, but maybe there is already something "out there". Ah well, I'll let it marinate for a while. See what happens. Maybe some more info trickles in.

Don't know if you are aware, but there are DG-campaigns available in the download section of the forum (Download Repositories/kermi's ftp (mirror)).

If not, might be worth a look

Yes, I found those. Very nice :-) The game itself could also use some expanding. Including the way multiplayer works. But more campaigns also add to the fun. Thnx! I've been doing some research now on what it would take to make an open source version of deadly games. That way it would be possible to expand on the current mechanics. Seeing that studios and publishers can't seem te get a good JA sequel on the market, the other option would be a community created game. It seems a little far fetched to make a new game from scratch, but to OS an existing version is doable. I love f.i. the way the OpenTTD project is doing and that original game is also ancient, but the OS version is more playable and enjoyable than ever before.
